In today’s fast moving world, we are constantly involved with distractions that can easily consume our time. Social media, television, video games, and other forms of entertainment can be incredibly addictive and can consume hours of our day. While these activities can be enjoyable, they can also be a huge waste of time if not managed properly.

We must understand that time is a limited resource and we should use it wisely to achieve our goals and aspirations. Every successful person has mastered the art of time management. They understand that they cannot afford to waste even a single minute of their day.

The value of time is often overlooked, but it is the foundation of success. Successful people understand that every moment counts and they use their time to achieve their goals. They plan their day, set priorities, and work hard to achieve their objectives. They do not let distractions get in the way of their success. We all have the same 24 hours in a day. It is up to us how we use it.

When we waste time, we lose the opportunity to do something meaningful and productive. Time wasted cannot be regained, and it often leads to regret and disappointment. On the other hand, when we use our time wisely, we can achieve great things and make a positive impact on the world.

It is important to prioritize our time and focus on the things that matter most. We should invest our time in activities that bring us closer to our goals and aspirations. Whether it is learning a new skill, pursuing a passion, or spending time with loved ones, every moment should count.

We should also learn to say no to things that do not align with our goals and priorities. Saying no can be difficult, but it is crucial for time management. We should not let others dictate how we spend our time. It is up to us to take control of our lives and use our time wisely.

In the end, the value of time cannot be overstated. It is a precious resource that we must learn to use wisely. Every moment counts, and we should make the most of it. Speech on Value of Time

Time is one of the most valuable resources we have in our lives. It is a precious commodity that cannot be bought or sold. We all have the same amount of time in a day, 24 hours to be exact, and how we use it can determine our success or failure in life. It is essential that we understand the value of time and make the most of it.

Time is a limited resource. Once it is gone, it cannot be regained. Every second, minute, and hour that passes by is lost forever. Therefore, it is important to use our time wisely and productively. Time is a great equalizer, as everyone has the same amount of time each day. However, what sets successful people apart is how they utilize their time.

Time management is a crucial skill that we all need to learn. It is not only about being organized and efficient but also about being able to prioritize and make the right choices. Effective time management means making the most of every minute of the day, by focusing on what is important and avoiding distractions.

Procrastination is one of the biggest obstacles to effective time management. It is easy to put things off until tomorrow, but tomorrow quickly becomes next week, next month, or even next year. Procrastination not only wastes time, but it also creates stress and anxiety. It is essential to identify the causes of procrastination and develop strategies to overcome them.

Another important aspect of time management is setting goals. Goals provide direction and motivation, and they help us to prioritize our time effectively. It is important to set realistic goals and to break them down into smaller, manageable steps. By doing this, we can make progress towards our goals each day, which can give us a sense of achievement and motivation.

Time is also important for our personal relationships. Spending time with family and friends is essential for our well-being, as it provides us with emotional support and a sense of belonging. However, we need to make sure that we balance our time between work and personal life, as neglecting one for the other can have negative consequences.

Whether it is in our personal or professional lives, effective time management can help us achieve our goals and increase our productivity.

In today’s fast-paced world, time is a luxury that few can afford to waste. With the rise of technology and social media, it is easy to get distracted and lose track of time. It is important to understand that time is a finite resource and should be used wisely. Instead of spending hours scrolling through social media or binge-watching TV shows, we should focus on our goals and work towards achieving them.

It is important to prioritize our tasks and tackle them one at a time. By doing this, we can ensure that we complete our work efficiently and effectively, leaving us with more time to enjoy the things we love.

Time is also important in our personal lives. Spending time with our loved ones is crucial for our mental health and well-being. It is important to make time for the people we care about and cherish the moments we have with them. In the end, it is not the amount of time we spend with our loved ones that matters, but the quality of the time we spend with them.

The Importance of Time: 8 Reasons Why Time is Important In Our Lives

Time is the most precious commodity anyone has. And yet, we all waste it. A lot. We fritter it away on things that don’t matter, on people who don’t deserve it, and on activities that don’t bring us joy.

Time is important because we only have a set amount of it. We can always make more money, but no matter how rich or poor we are, we can’t make more time.

That’s why it’s critical to use your time wisely and make the most of every minute.

The value of time

Have you ever stopped to think how much your time is worth? Unfortunately, there’s no easy answer to this question.

However, we can think of time in terms of opportunity cost. That is, the value of time is what we give up when we choose to spend it on one activity instead of another.

For example, if you spend an hour watching tv, you’ve given up the opportunity to use that hour to read, exercise, or spend time with friends and family.

Of course, this doesn’t mean that watching tv is always a bad choice. But it’s important to be aware of the opportunity cost of our time so that we can make sure we’re spending it in ways that are truly valuable to us.

Are you ready to simplify your life?

8 reasons time is important

1. time is a fundamental element of our existence.

Time is a funny thing. It can seem to drag on when we’re bored, and yet it can fly by when we’re having fun. It’s a relative concept that helps us to measure the events of our lives.

But it’s a fundamental element of our existence. Just as we need air, water and food to survive, we also need time. It’s an integral part of who we are and how we experience the world.

Consider, for a moment, what would happen if time didn’t exist. Our lives would be a series of unrelated events with no real connection to one another. We wouldn’t be able to remember the past or plan for the future. We wouldn’t even be able to conceive of the concept of cause and effect.

2. Time is a precious commodity that we can never get back once it’s gone

In today’s fast-paced world, it’s easy to lose track of time. We’re always rushing from one thing to the next, and before we know it, weeks or even months have gone by.

That’s why it’s so important to make the most of our time and not waste a single moment of this valuable resource.

Of course, that’s easier said than done.

Woman writing in journal

We all have busy lives with never-ending daily tasks and it can be tough to find time for the things we really want to do. But if we want to make the most of our time, we need to find a way to fit everything in.

One way to do this is to schedule our time wisely. By setting aside specific times for different activities, we can ensure that we get everything done and still have time for fun and relaxation.

Another way to make the most of our time is to live in the present moment. It’s easy to get caught up in worrying about the future or dwelling on the past, but if we focus on the present, we can make the most of every moment.

3. Time is the most important factor in achieving success

How we spend our time ultimately determines how successful we will be in life. If we want to achieve our goals, we have to be intentional with our time . We have to use it wisely and efficiently.

That means making time for the things that are important to us, and letting go of the things that aren’t. It means being present in the moment and living with purpose.

In order to be successful – whether that be in our careers, our personal lives, or our relationships – we have to make the time available.

4. The way we spend our time reflects our priorities

Our priorities are the things that are most important to us. They’re the things we focus on and spend our time on, whether we realise it or not.

The way we spend our time is a reflection of our priorities.

If we want to change our lives, we need to start by changing the way we use our time. One of the best ways to do this is to set aside time each day for activities that are important to us.

Couple spending time together

For example, if you want to spend more time with your family, you can make sure to eat dinner together every night. If you want to get in shape, you can set aside time each day for exercise.

By making time for the things that are important to us, we can begin to change our everyday lives for the better.

5. How we manage our time says a lot about our character

How we manage our time is a reflection of our character, our values, and our self-discipline. When we’re able to effectively manage our time, it shows that we’re able to set and stick to boundaries, that we’re efficient and organised, and that we can handle responsibility.

On the other hand, poor time management skills can indicate that we’re disorganised, that we’re procrastinators, or that we lack self-control.

In other words, effective time management is more than just a helpful life skill that we can always work on and improve – it’s a window into who we are as people.

6. Time is a great leveler – it doesn’t matter who you are, we all have the same 24 hours in a day

Have you ever noticed that some people seem to get a lot more done in a day than others? It can be easy to assume that they must have extra time on their hands, but the truth is, we all have the same 24 hours in a day.

The difference is how we choose to spend our time.

Some people choose to binge watch Netflix for hours at a time, while others use their time to learn new skills, start businesses, or travel the world.

It doesn’t matter who you are or what your circumstances are – we all have the same amount of time each day. What matters is how we choose to spend it.

7. Time is a precious gift that should not be wasted

Time is one of the most precious gifts we can give to someone.

That’s why it’s so important to make sure that we’re not wasting our time on unimportant tasks or things that simply don’t matter.

Woman holding a gift

So how can you gift someone time? Be with them in the present moment. Don’t waste time scrolling through social media when you have limited time to spend with them to begin with.

And if you’re the one who is always busy, make time for the people in your life that matter. Let them know that they are a priority to you.

8. Everyone will eventually run out of time

If you’re only looking for one answer to ‘why is time important?’, this will likely be it.

No matter how well we manage our time, everyone eventually runs out of time. It’s an inevitability of life. Just as we are born, we all have an expiration date. And while we may not know when that day will come, we can be certain that it will arrive at some point and nobody gets additional time.

While this may sound depressing, it’s actually quite empowering. Knowing that we have a limited amount of time gives us a sense of urgency to make the most of the time we have. It encourages us to live life to the fullest and to pursue our dreams.

So instead of dwelling on the fact that everyone will eventually run out of time, let’s focus on making the most of the time we have. Who knows, maybe by doing so, we’ll end up with more time than we ever thought possible.

Essay on Value of Time

Time plays the most important role in life. It is the most wonderful and practical thing. It has no beginning and no end. All things are born on time, grown on time and die on time. You cannot have command on time, nor can you analyze and criticize it. It is very crucial that you understand the value of time and manage it effectively; otherwise, time can create an enormous impact on your life. You need to comprehend and regard the value of time by not wasting it.

Time is the most valuable thing in life. It has no beginning and no end. It can neither be created nor be destroyed. Time is the only dimension in which we all live our lives, and it affects everything that we do, from a flower's growing cycle to the destruction of empires. Time is so important, in fact, that if you did not have any, you could not do anything at all. There are many things that we can do with our time: We can spend it on leisure activities, such as sleeping, watching TV, reading or going for a walk; on work or study; on raising a family; or on helping others. No matter what we choose to do, it is important that we manage our time and make the most of it. Time is a valuable thing when we are in school.

A flower can be planted anytime during the year, but if you want it to grow into a beautiful plant with colourful petals, then you must provide it with enough sunlight, water, and soil. You cannot tell time to wait for your instructions; thus, you must use time in the most efficient way possible to get things done. It is the same with our lives. We have a limited amount of time on this earth, and we need to spend it wisely if we want to accomplish our goals and dreams. There are many ways that we can misuse our time. One of the most common is by procrastinating. Procrastination is the act of putting off action until a later time when it could have been done much more efficiently if you had just done it in the first place.

Time has an Effect Everywhere in Life

Your use of time reflects your priorities. It shows what is important to you. For example, if you are always late for meetings or appointments, then people may assume that you do not value them or their time. However, if you are usually well prepared and arrive early for meetings, then your colleagues will know that they can rely on you to get things done in a timely manner. Time is very much crucial to every person in the world. You have wasted time in the past, so do not get frustrated if you are not able to manage your time perfectly. The important thing is to learn from your mistakes and use that knowledge to help you become more efficient with your time in the future!

Time is Valuable

Time management can be defined as "the process of planning and exercising conscious control over the amount of time allocated to the various activities in one's life." It is a skill that can be acquired through training and practice. In order to manage your time effectively, you must know how you spend your time now. Record how much time you spend on each activity during a week, then review what you have recorded. Identify the important tasks and the ones that do not serve any real purpose. Useless activities can be eliminated, and important tasks can be rearranged in a more efficient schedule. The most effective time management techniques include: planning your day the night before, setting priorities, delegating responsibilities, using a planner or calendar, working on one task at a time, utilizing time-saving tools and strategies, and taking short breaks. If we have good habits and good strategies and we follow them, we will get the most out of time. Time management has a great impact on our lives. It can make us more productive every day and help us achieve our goals in life. So take control of your time; do not let it control you! The value of time is something that everyone understands. Time is a precious commodity that we all have an equal amount of, and it is something that should not be wasted. It is interesting to think about how time affects our lives in so many ways. Time is the one thing that we all have in common, but, as a society, we have made very little use of that fact. We have divided up the time that we have into minutes and seconds to the point where time is now our enemy. We are always in a hurry, always chasing after something that we believe will make us happy. And yet, there is nothing that we can do to stop time from passing by.

Importance of Time

Time does not wait for anyone. Whether you like it or not, the fact is time will never stop. It will keep going on. This is an old belief, but it still holds true. Time gives you only one chance, and you have to make the best of it. A moment lost is lost forever. You cannot go back and reverse time.

Time is ever-changing, and change is the law of nature. Nothing is independent of time and change. Life is short, and tasks to accomplish are vast and challenging. We should realize this fact and not waste any minute. Every second and every opportunity should be used efficiently and meaningfully.

Managing Time

Time management has become the most crucial task in today's busy world. It is the art of arranging, organizing, scheduling and budgeting one time for the purpose of generating more effective work and productivity.

Managing time is the effect of the value of time. It is important for everyone, including students, teachers, factory workers, professionals, homemakers and all.

Managing time is not necessarily about getting a lot of things done. Instead, it is about getting the right things, the things that truly need to be done. So it is essential to remain focused and in control of time instead of rushing frantically from one activity to the next until you get exhausted.

Never postpone things for the next day. Today is important. To complete your task today rather than leaving it for tomorrow. Leisure is enjoyable but after fruitful hard work.

Steps to Utilize Time in an Effective Way

Focus on Most Important Tasks First : Calculate how much your time is worth for a particular job. This will help you to prioritize the work and focus on the important task first. Less important tasks can be delegated to others.

Create a Time Audit : You can keep track of the work that you do every week. Then you can make a report to find out which task is stealing more time. This will help you in proper assessment.

Set a Time Limit for Each Task : When you set a time limit for each task, then you will not get distracted and finish your work within the time frame.

Plan Ahead : If you plan well in advance, then you can be more organized and utilize time to complete work efficiently.

Don't Waste Time Waiting: If you have to wait for the completion of a task, then utilize that waiting time in a most effective way. Instead of sitting idle, you can read any book or study material of your interest. This will increase your productivity.

Work Smarter and Not Harder : When you juggle with time, then be smart enough to take up one single task and finish it. Quality is more important than quantity.

Time is a very vital substance in our lives. By realizing the value of time and utilizing it effectively, we will not only achieve our goals to the utmost personal satisfaction but can also contribute to the advancement and development of our society and country. We need to respect time, and by this, we can get the best out of it.

So if people know the value of time, then it is beneficial for society and the individual. The value of time is often underestimated. People think that they have all the time in the world and so they can waste it. But, what people don't realize is that time is a precious commodity that, once wasted, can never be recovered. Time waits for no one, so whatever we want to do, we should do it now and not put it off for later so that we can enjoy it to the fullest. So our advice is that you should utilize your time as effectively as possible and feel content by finishing everything on time.

Long and Short Speech on Value of Time

Speech on value of time 1.

My Loving Parents and all My Wonderful Friends – Warm Good Evening!

Firstly, I would like to thank my parents from the bottom of my heart for felicitating me by organizing this superb party. I know you are happier than me on my having scored 90 percent marks in the 12 th board examination. Secondly, I want to thank all my friends for gracing the occasion with their presence as the celebration will not be complete without you all.

There is no happiness as big as seeing the happy faces of your parents and making them feel proud. I owe this success to my parents who have taught me the value of time. Had they not guided me throughout my exam preparation and been my motivation, this success wouldn’t have been possible.

On today’s occasion, other than thanking my parents, I want to talk about the value of time so that my friends has something important to take back home in the end and also develop seriousness towards it by not simply whiling away their time. Friends, time is the most valuable thing in life and if you will destroy time then time will destroy you. Time is the most powerful of all and if you use it wisely only then success will touch your feet.

Of course, hard work is of paramount importance, but if you do not have good time management skills, then every planning collapses and nothing comes to your rescue. Therefore, it is important to keep a conscious watch over passing time and manage all your crucial tasks accordingly. After the results got declared almost everyone asked the same question, i.e. how did I manage my studies while being a part of various co-curricular activities? My answer was that the secret behind all this is my good time management skills taught by my parents. It is not difficult to manage time for the whole day as all one requires preparing a schedule for the whole day and acts accordingly. In fact, in the absence of time table it becomes difficult to manage a day’s task and everything appears chaotic.

In my opinion, it is a sound timetable that takes care of all your day’s activities and ensures that you do not miss out on any of your important activity of the day. Just prepare time slots as per your day’s activities and devote time hours to each of the day’s work using your discretion. Preparing the time table or following a schedule does not mean that you shun all your favorite activities and devote your complete time towards studies, it rather means that those 24 hours in a day should be so utilized that no activity is overlooked.

After following a proper schedule, you will realize that everything is falling into place and you are able to enjoy all your favorite activities without affecting your studies. Please don’t look amazed and try this exercise for yourself and bring a meaningful change in your life.

This is all I have to say! Now, I request all my guests to enjoy the party and dinner.

Speech on Value of Time 2

Hon’ble Principal, Vice Principal, Teachers and Our Loving Students – Good Morning to everyone!

I, Nandini Sen, your English teacher, would like to take few minutes from your precious time since the assembly has got over now. Students, we have organized a small speech ceremony for today and the topic for the ceremony is “The Value of Time”. We all know that your board exams are approaching and hardly 2 months are left. You all must be worried and anxious about the exam preparation and whether you will be able to live up to your expectations and your parents’ expectations or not.

This is certainly not an easy time for you – it’s like a do or die situation for most of the students who literally develop exam fever during this time. However, I would like to say that it is good to be worried about exams till a certain point, but it is not good to completely get bogged down under the tension. At this time, you are required to not panic at all and give utmost importance to your time management ability because the more efficiently you will utilize time now, the more positive impact it will have on your exams.

It is said that haste makes waste, so as your senior most teacher and on behalf of all the teachers, I want to mention that indulge in your exams preparation with a calm mind and not with an intention to finish off the entire syllabus in one go. I am repeatedly saying to manage your time efficiently and devote sufficient time to each and every subject. Make sure that time slot given to every subject is sufficient enough to target your day’s tasks. After preparing the timetable, it will be your sole responsibility to follow it religiously. Any slight negligence on your part can cost you heavily.

As it is said that time and tide wait for none, so make the most of this time because this time will never come back again in your life and only regret will then remain for the lifetime, in case you do not use it efficiently. This 2-month time is enough to leverage your exam preparation and help you achieve your goals. If you conquer time then everything is possible. So let not this time slip away from your hand for nothing and make a wise use of it.

Other than studies, take out time for some refreshing activities too which will rejuvenate both your body and soul. An effective time management is one that allows you to enjoy your favorite activities during the day other than studies. Thus, in this manner your mind will be better prepared to absorb facts and concepts. Value time and time will value you – it’s a simple give and take relationship. Learn to manage your time using your best judgment and never overlook any important work of a day because the gross negligence of work can make you pay heavily for it.

As your teachers and mentors, it is our duty to keep you away from the danger and help you choose a path that brings you closer to your dreams. Now, if you have any questions or doubts, please feel free to ask.

Speech on Value of Time 3

Respected Senior Managers, Managers and My Dear Colleagues – Good Afternoon to one and all!

I am extremely overwhelmed because it’s my last day in the office today. Before I deliver my speech, please allow me to thank all of you for throwing such a wonderful party. I also want to thank all my senior managers and managers for giving me an excellent grooming and helping me evolve as a person who no longer gets scared at accepting challenges and can deliver any task effectively while meeting the deadlines. I wouldn’t have been the person that I am now without the mentoring of my seniors.

Other than my seniors, I also cannot thank enough my team members and my friends, who have always supported me at all times. Whether it was about fixing any errors, meeting deadlines, taking up challenging assignments or stretching their working hours at the time of crisis – I have always received your immense support. However, there also have been times when I failed hard and couldn’t deliver the projects as per the expectations. Earlier, I used to be reckless and very clumsy in my approach towards work. Despite that, I have learnt a lot from my past failures and learnt one very important lesson of my life, i.e. to value Time.

So my speech for today is not any clichéd one, but on the Value of Time. The reason why I have chosen this topic is because I want everyone to not undermine the importance of time and understand that we all can achieve anything we want; we have to complete determination and give time its due value. Time, as we all know, is an extremely crucial driving factor in our lives as it enables us to structure or organize our day to day activities. It is not possible for any one of us to escape the consequences of passing time recklessly. Moreover, we all are mortal creatures and prone to the aging process. So we cannot ignore time. If one makes a wise use of time – he/she earns experience and is able to hone skills over a period of time. Time is also a great healer whether it’s the external wound or internal ones. And, ultimately time is the only measure. Activities which are performed on time yield fruitful results and help you become successful in life.

So since the day, I began valuing time and started following a proper timetable I realized that things are actually falling into place. In fact, I started enjoying my work and lifestyle as a whole. It eventually boosted my morale and made me feel confident about myself. By just following time religiously, I found solutions to all my problems and it in fact gave a sense of purpose to my life. If time acts as a great healer then it also has the capacity to destroy things.

Thus, every individual should never lag behind it because time once lost will never come back again. What is there today will never be the same tomorrow so make the most of it. I hope my all friends are listening and those who never took time so seriously before will take back home a lesson and gear up from now onwards.

Now, I would request my senior manager and manager to come on stage and say a few words on my last day. I hope everyone’s journey in this organization will be as fruitful as mine and you all reach great heights of success in the days to come.

Speech on Value of Time 4

Respected Society Members and Our Dear Children – Warm Good Evening! I welcome you all to our society’s bi-monthly gathering.

Besides being the secretary of our Vatsali Apartment, I am also a teacher and to my disappointment from quite some time now, I am seeing that our society children are not paying attention towards their studies and are simply whiling away their time. Once you all are back from school, I just see everybody on the playground until it gets dark and then you all go home have your dinner and are off to bed. Except coming for your tuition classes, I always see you playing.

It’s good to engage in sports and enjoy your favorite activities, but it’s equally important to keep a watch on the passing time. If you will not utilize your time properly and end up just playing sports throughout, then you will lag behind in your studies and eventually you may face serious consequences in future. So today let me inform you about the importance of time and why is it vital to give it its due value.

Even though time doesn’t have a beginning nor an end, we can still measure it in terms of seconds, minutes, hours, days, months and years. There are other words too associated with time, such as past, present and future. Time is never constant and keeps on flowing. What is today will not be there tomorrow so make the most of your present time. As it is said that “ One has to strike the iron when it is hot” , so it implies that use time when it is most appropriate for if you waste time, then time will waste you.

We require time in every walk of life. Whether we take rest, work or perform household chores – we need to devote sufficient attention. If we fail to devote sufficient time then the result will not be satisfying or even fruitful. Likewise, if you will ignore your studies or will not devote proper time then results will not at all be favorable. Other than studies or tasks, time is also required in building relationships and improving circumstances. Time is like that important ingredient in a dish with the scarcity of which no dish can taste good or the possible outcome can prove to be rewarding.

Everyone has 24 hours in a day and every person uses those 24 hours differently. Some use it dexterously and become successful in life and some simply waste it by doing nothing. But as your teacher, it becomes my responsibility to guide you and make you utilize time to your optimum capacity. Secondly, never postpone your work for future and do it there and then itself, thus it will help you eliminate unnecessary hassles. Also, be punctual in life and thus ensure the best utilization of time. Punctuality helps you avoid excessive work load and inconvenience. The doors of new opportunities open up if you utilize time well and give you handsome results.

In the end, I will just say that each one of us has only 24 hours time in a day. Therefore, learn to rule time rather than allowing time to rule you. By taking control of time, you will also be able to develop your capacity to focus on your goals so much so that when your focus is increased, your efficiency automatically gets increased and then you do not lose momentum. You learn to handle your daily tasks much more efficiently and also finishing it off speedily.

I hope that all my students have taken note of it and from now on will make the optimum use of time by devoting sufficient attention towards their studies.

Effective time management is one of the finest qualities that has to be instilled in every child’s life from a young age itself. The skill of time management is very important in life; it helps an individual to prioritise actions and thus can systematically deal with incidents happening in life. A person with time management skills can easily sort out particular activities and can perform them well based on priority.

Childhood is considered the best time to learn life lessons. Effective time management is one of the best life lessons that they have to be taught.“By education, I mean an all-round drawing out of the best in the child and man; body, mind and spirit.” These are the words told by Mahatma Gandhi. Education is not only about scoring good marks and performing well in academics. The purest form of education is obtained from the exploration of our life. So to experience the exact sweetness of education, more and more have to be explored. A person needs time to do so. With the quality of effective time management, a person can schedule each and every day and live life to the fullest. It acts as a timesaver and offers time to perform more in life.

Time management is one of the finest traits valued by every employer. It is important in all stages of life. From childhood to old age, its advantages are well visible. In simpler terms, we can define time management as one of the few shortcuts to success in life.

What is human life? Human life is a short journey between birth and death. We only have limited time on this planet. So each and every second of our lives counts and is infinite in its worth. According to the words of Jim Rohn, “Time is more valuable than money. You can get more money, but you cannot get more time.” Don’t you agree with this statement?

Even though time limitation is well known to all, people still invest their lives in money rather than on time. Many people prioritise money over time. They are not willing to accept the fact that money can be made by any person who has got time left with them. Wasting time to make money is one of the most commonly made mistakes by human beings. It’s high time we stopped comparing the value of time with money because the value of time is inconceivably higher than that of money or anything else on this planet. Stop blindly pursuing to accumulate wealth and start living your life.

Do you know what determines the success of an individual? An individual’s success in life is determined by the productive utilisation of the 24 hours in a day. The efforts taken by the individuals differentiate them from one another. Like the words told by Lord Chesterfield, “Know the true value of time; snatch, seize, and enjoy every moment of it. No idleness, no laziness, no procrastination; Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today.”

Procrastination is never the choice of the wise. By procrastination, a person is actually trying to evade responsibilities. A person is only inviting trouble by doing so. We are all familiar with the proverb” A stitch in time saves nine”, right? So it is always better to finish tasks on time. Seize every opportunity and live every moment because time once lost is lost forever.

Why is time precious for every individual?

Human life is a short journey between birth and death. We only have a very limited time for living on this planet. So each and every second of our lives counts and is infinite in its worth. The value of time is inconceivably higher than that of money or anything else on this planet.

Why is time management so important in human lives?

Childhood is considered the best time to learn life lessons. Effective time management is one of the finest qualities that has to be instilled in every child’s life from a young age itself. The skill of time management is important in life; it helps an individual to prioritise actions and thus can enable them to systematically deal with incidents happening in life. A person with time management skills can easily sort out particular activities and can perform them well based on priority.

List some quotes to use in a speech on the importance of time.

  • “Lack of direction, not lack of time, is the problem. We all have twenty-four hour days.” – Zig Ziglar.
  • “The most efficient way to live reasonably is every morning to make a plan of one’s day and every night to examine the results obtained.” – Alexis Carrel.
  • “He who every morning plans the transactions of that day and follows that plan carries a thread that will guide him through the labyrinth of the most busy life.” – Victor Hugo.

What Is the Value of Reducing the Use of Scarce Biological Resources Such As Donor Organs?

Jones C 1 , McDowell R 2 1 Avalere Health, Fleet, UK, 2 Avalere Health, Knoxville, TN, USA

Presentation Documents

  • ISPOR24_McDowell_HTA38_POSTER138180.pdf

OBJECTIVES: Donor organs for transplant and human blood are scarce resources; this study aimed to establish if and how a reduction in the use of donor organs is valued in health technology assessments (HTA).

METHODS: Literature searches were conducted to identify interventions that may reduce or delay the number of organ transplants required within a general population. HTA decisions for these interventions published within the last five years by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence or the Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health were reviewed to determine whether this outcome was discussed and/or valued. PubMed hed for methods, published within the last 5 years, to quantify the indirect value (reduction in opportunity cost) of an intervention to delay or avoid kidney transplant to patients on waiting lists.

RESULTS: Eighteen medicines and four devices or procedures associated with reducing or delaying the need for kidney, liver, lung transplants or preserving donor organs were found. Medicines included those for kidney disease (n=6), liver disease (n=3), cystic fibrosis (n=3), and organ transplant (n=4). Of the 31 HTA decisions reviewed, five mentioned donor organs being scarce, valuable, or limited resources, while two mentioned equity issues relating to organ transplants. While delay in time to, or absolute reduction in organ transplants was included as an outcome of interest in some economic models, none considered the indirect benefit to patients on waiting lists who would get an earlier transplant. No articles describing methods for valuing this type of indirect benefit were identified.

'Craveable items at an affordable price': Taco Bell rolls out new $7 value meal combo

Taco bell hopes to confront high fast food prices with its $7 luxe cravings box, which comes with a chalupa supreme, beefy 5-layer burrito, double stacked taco, chips and nacho cheese sauce and drink..

presentation about value of time

Taco Bell has a new combo meal deal meant to address the affordability of fast food with inflation still on the front burner for consumers.

The new $7 limited-time Luxe Cravings Box hits the Taco Bell menu Thursday. The meal comes with a Chalupa Supreme, Beefy 5-Layer Burrito, Double Stacked Taco, chips and nacho cheese sauce, and a medium drink. The restaurant chain says the combo is priced about 55% lower than the price for the menu items bought separately.

Many major fast food chains have sought to address consumer concerns over prices. Last week, McDonald's began selling a $5 limited-time Meal Deal , which includes a McDouble or McChicken sandwich, 4-piece Chicken McNuggets, small fries and a small soft drink.

Dunkin': See the restaurant chain's lineup of summer menu items for 2024

Last month, Wendy's began offe ring a $3 breakfast deal for an English muffin breakfast sandwich and side of seasoned potatoes, and Burger King debuted the $5 Your Way Meal with a choice of three sandwiches, plus chicken nuggets, fries and a drink.

This isn't Taco Bell's first attempt to bring affordability to its menu as consumers look for cheaper food options. The $5 Taco Discovery Box – a Crunchy Taco, Doritos Locos Taco, Cantina Chicken Crispy Taco and a medium drink – was available in April to June 4. In January, Taco Bell launched a new Cravings Value Menu with 10 items for $3 or less.

Since then prices on some of those menu items have increased slightly. But there's still 10 items priced at less than $3, Taylor Montgomery, the chief marketing officer for Taco Bell North America, said in a statement sent to USA TODAY. "Our Cravings Value Menu is one of the leading value menus within the industry … because we believe consumers shouldn’t have to choose between affordability and abundance," he said.

With the new $7 Luxe Cravings Box, "we’re giving consumers our most craveable items at an affordable price point and living up to our commitment on value to satisfy cravings with fan favorite full-sized menu items," Montgomery said.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL 25 SIGHTS AND SOUNDS DEEP DIVE

Welcome back to the Campus Huddle, your home for news and information about EA Sports College Football 25, straight from the developers! Before we hear from our developers, Ohio State’s own Kirk Herbstreit is back giving an inside look into the Sights and Sounds of #CFB25!

Christian Brandt here, Senior Game Designer, proud alumni of Penn State and College Football fanatic. As the Presentation Lead, I am here to take you through all the sights and sounds of College Football 25.

During our development, we came in every day with the reminder that “Every team is someone's favorite team” . This led us to focus on ensuring the presentation contained as much of the detail, sights, sounds and traditions of the 134 FBS Schools as possible in College Football 25. Below is a behind the scenes guide of how a team of college football fanatics came together and packed it all into the game!

SIGHTS AND SOUNDS

Picture this, you are playing as Penn State getting ready to take on your opponent. This all starts with your team running out of the tunnel to Zombie Nation blasting and the whole stadium chanting “We Are Penn State”.

We recreated that feeling, sound, and visuals of pre-game as if you are down on the field with them. There is nothing like it and we wanted to make sure that you could experience the same feeling that these players have when you are walking out as your favorite team.

Gameday tradition is a key element of what separates Saturday from Sunday all around the country. Knowing this, we went to painstaking lengths to build out and capture the sights and sounds of College Football.

To nail down that authentic feeling of College Football, the school atmosphere is where it all begins. Walk out of the tunnel with 100,000 family and friends screaming for you, supporting you. We stay up close and personal with our camera style throughout the game. This is done so you can feel the excitement with our epic run outs for each team and feel like you are just as much a part of this team as the real players.

Motion Capture

Motion capture was the key to ensuring the accuracy and detail of all the props from historical items to the brand new traditions of gameday. Every prop was built to its accurate size and weight then mocapped in a studio, allowing real people to interact with them. Simply using a stand-in object would not replicate authenticity.

We built a 2-story ramp to replicate “THE HILL” for the Clemson runout. We hired stunt actors to give us their best jumps in the “middle” of the hill and run down that ramp like they were getting ready to meet their rival for the biggest game of their lives.

We built the Notre Dame stairs leading to the classic tradition of tapping on the “Play Like A Champion” sign. For Purdue, we built their rotating bass drum to pay off their pre-game show.

Georgia, Boston College, Louisiana-Lafayette, and Florida State each have tear through banners when they enter the field. To mocap this, we first created a door frame to mocap the header touches like for Virginia Tech, Wisconsin, and many others. Then we hung pool noodles from the top of that. The players ran through tearing between the pool noodles to simulate the effect of ripping the banner down the middle.

For the Gators tunnel, we traveled to Gainsville to get an exact scan of the gator statue that the players tap on their way from the locker room to the field. We also created a prop with the exact height to mocap tapping the Gator head then walking down the tunnel to the swamp sign overhead.

While those are just a few examples of the lengths we went to, you can be sure there is something for fans of every team. We’re talking cannons going off for kickoffs and TD’s, smoke for UCF TD’s, and all the way to the fountain at Arkansas State.

Speaking of Gameday, Mascots are one of the most fun aspects of College Football. The variety and detail is unmatched across sports. This encompasses everything from humans in massive costumes to real animals! We have 50 total mascots in the game including 40 Team Mascots and 10 real animals representing their schools.

For the mascots we initially did a lot of internal research for each one. Checking on what's unique about each mascot and what do fans enjoy about them the most.

For example, the Texas Hook’ Em had “follow me eyes”, the team worked to get that same level of practical effect in the game.

Along the way we talked to alumni and our school contacts to find out even more little details. Mascots such as the Stanford tree that change every year or even animal mascots that grew over time, such as Ralphie from Colorado, we did adjustments on her as she aged into her reins.

Fun things that we learned along the way like how Boomer and Sooner have the OU logo painted on their hooves

I know we couldn’t touch on all the mascots we have in-game but be sure to check out your favorite school and see what unique quirks you can find out about them!'

When we talk about a team of developers that loves College Football, this is what we mean. One of our developers got in on the action as a stand in, to ensure all the animal run outs were perfect. Go Stew “Dubs”!

Turnover Traditions, the “New Era”

Not only do we have the classic school traditions in the game, but the “New Era” of traditions including Turnover and Touchdown props made it into the game as well. All this action takes place during gameplay and examples of what you might see are chainsaws, championship belts, basketball hoops, and even a THRONE!

The Field We Play On

Where you play is one of the most important aspects of your College Football experience. We are proud to say that we worked hard to deliver as many stadiums with as much accuracy as possible. This was achieved by visiting local venues such as the University of Florida to gather detailed references from every corner of the stadium that we could possibly find.

For schools that were farther away, we requested reference materials, and over 80 schools responded, providing an average of 1,000 photos each, amounting to a staggering amount of nearly 80,000 photos to reference from.

Additionally, we plan to update stadiums post launch as we receive new architecture and designs from schools so that CFB 25 is authentic to everything you see on Saturdays.

To streamline the stadium creation process, the team utilized a specialized stadium toolkit that allowed us to develop all of the essential structures for a stadium in record time. Things like tunnels, stairs, and stands are crucial to the authenticity of a College Football Stadium and this tool allowed us to curate that experience for you.

This toolkit enabled the artists to focus on crafting unique architectural details and implementing real-time lighting effects, ensuring that each stadium was both accurate and visually stunning. This efficient workflow allowed the team to meet the ambitious goal of building over 150 stadiums within a single production cycle while maintaining high quality and attention to detail.

Suit Up in Your favorite uniform

College threads are ever changing each year and even game to game for some teams. Real-world uniforms are made with countless variations of: Cloth materials, stitching patterns, colors, patches, stripes, logos, names and numbers. To be able to create uniforms for 134 teams with multiple variations and helmets we had to create a brand new toolset which allowed artists and designers to build uniforms in real time seeing their work instantly in-engine. This allowed the team to create incredibly detailed uniforms across 134 different schools.

Emotional Soundscape

As we were getting the sights locked in, we knew the sounds would be just as critical to nail to ensure the soundscape of College Football delivered. The feeling of being at a game - The Crowd, Band, Cheerleaders, Chants, PA Music between plays is unlike any other sport.

Crowd Noise

Over the last two seasons, we worked with ESPN to capture crowd audio straight from their broadcasts. From Autzen Stadium to Death Valley (both of them), and more, this content will function as our crowd noise, swells, and reactions that you’ll experience in every game you play.

Remember that OT game from 2022 between LSU and Alabama? Yeah, we were there. And we got all of it.

In addition to that game in Baton Rouge, we ended up capturing crowd noise from 41 games in places like Oregon State, Georgia, Florida State, Duke, UCLA, Texas, West Virginia, Georgia Tech, Miami, Ole Miss, Missouri, Kentucky, NC State, North Carolina, USC, Florida, Auburn, Louisville, Washington, Alabama, Michigan and from the previously mentioned, LSU, Clemson and Oregon.

This Is My Fight Song

One of our Feature Producers Torsten Staley, Oregon Marching Band Alumni, traveled to Nashville to record every team's Fight Song. We utilized an amazing group of musicians who were just as passionate as us in getting these songs right. Many were previous students and alumni from schools like Oklahoma, North Texas, Vanderbilt, USC, Auburn, and Tennessee.

Not only did we record each team's fight songs, but we also recorded many of the rousers that are normally heard between plays and during pressure moments throughout a game. Some examples include “Go Gators” and “Roll Tide Roll” for those stadium-rousing moments,  “Dies Irae” and “Mars”  for those 3rd and 4th down defensive moments, and a few others that you’ll just have to find out for yourself…

Over 180 school band songs and drum grooves, including all 134 fight songs, are in the game. This process took 11 days, across 3 different groupings of players, Marching Percussion, Brass, and Winds. We are so excited for you to hear and experience each one of these songs - whether it’s a classic like “Hail to the Victors” from Michigan; for the first time ever in our College Football game history, “War Eagle” from Auburn, or one you may be hearing for the first time…by the way, the JSU Fight Song from Jacksonville State, SLAPS!

Crowd Themes

Another example of what makes college football so special are the theme games when the crowd comes together in unison to create a pattern across the stadium. From the checkerboard pattern at Tennessee, to the triple stripe layout at Boise State. We have over 170 different patterns for schools that have them in real life.

Each seat in the stadium was hand set up seat by seat to match the patterns. Also if your school has multiple themes, those are in too. Here we have the Stripe Out, the Helmet Stripe, and then to one of the most electric atmosphere’s in College Football, the White Out game.

Dynamic Attendance

A new feature to help bring more authenticity into the game revolves around attendance levels in the stadium. To help paint a better picture, here is a great example from one of our team members who was playing a Dynasty with FIU. During the first couple of games the stands were not very full which resulted in a lower home field advantage stadium pulse. Once he landed a big win on the road at Indiana and the team record was 7-0, the stands were becoming more full to start the game. By the end of the season with a 10-1 record and finishing in the top 25 rankings, home games would result in sell out crowds and the home field advantage pulse meter was now rocking high on the way to the conference championship.

Crowd Section Layouts

In addition to seeing the unison of the crowd come together for key matchups, each and every stadium is setup with its band section, away visitors section, and student section. Also schools are equipped with pageantry props accurate to life such as Pom-Poms at Michigan and Tennessee, towels at South Carolina and Pitt, and even the Tiger Tails for Missouri.

High Energy Student Sections

The student section is the life-blood of the stadium that brings the energy, passion, and emotion that spreads across the full stadium creating that over the top college football atmosphere that we all love. We all know what the students do all game, stand and cheer, so in the game the student section stands the whole game cheering on their team. We captured both male and female actors screaming at the top of their lungs to recreate those high intensity 3rd down moments. Not only are the big moments captured but also the heartbreaking ones. Anyone remember the Surrender Cobra? It’s in the game, just don’t miss that game winning field goal and you will be spared.

Hand Signals

Next, we researched schools and captured each team's hand signal traditions. During pre-game run outs and after positive plays throughout the game, you will be able to see the fans supporting the team.

A few examples include:

  • Wisconsin's “W”
  • The Miami “U”
  • Nebraska “Bones”
  • Duke “Bull City”
  • NC State “Wolfpack”
  • East Carolina “Finger Hook”
  • SMU “Pony Ears”
  • Kansas State “ WC / Wildcat”
  • TCU “Go Frogs”
  • Rutgers “Chop”
  • North Texas “Eagle Claw”
  • Rice “Owl Wings”
  • UTEP “Picks Up”
  • UTSA “Shaka Y”
  • New Mexico State “Guns Up”
  • Ball State “Chirp”
  • Northern Illinois “Go Huskies”
  • Washington “Dubs Up”
  • Texas A&M “Gig Em”
  • Louisiana “UL”
  • South Alabama “J-Hand”
  • Texas State “"Eat 'Em Up, Cats" and "The Heart of Texas State"
  • Sam Houston “Claw”
  • Plus Many More

Another huge tradition, essential to College Football, is stadium-wide chants. The fans, alumni, and students all work together to fire up their players as an inspirational rally cry or to intimidate the opposition when your favorite team needs a critical stop.

For schools we weren’t able to visit, we went to the top of the parking garage at our Orlando Studio and yelled out each chant over and over again to nail down the pace and accuracy for each chant needed. 11 sessions later, we ended up capturing over 220 chants for our game. From O-H-I-O for Ohio State to the 3rd Down Chirps for the Cardinals of Ball State, we’ve covered as many as possible.

Not only will you hear the chants, but many are timed to the mass crowd movements like “Let’s Go Blue” with the crowd pumping their arms into the air three times or the War Chant with the WHOLE stadium doing the tomahawk chop.

Beyond what I’ve already mentioned, here are just a few more of the chants to listen for…

  • Texas - Texas! Fight!
  • TCU - RIFF RAM
  • Auburn - WARRRRRRRRR EAGLE! HEY!
  • Missouri - MIZ!! ZOU!!

Iconic Voices in the Booth

Any experience in our games isn’t complete without voices to speak to the action on the field. In College Football 25, we have two iconic Broadcast Teams lined up for you!

The celebrated team of Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit will be on the call in your Dynasty and Road to Glory seasons when your weekly matchup is declared the Game of the Week. They will also be present if you reach a Conference Championship game, each game of the College Football Playoff, and the College Football Playoff National Championship Game.

But like I said, we have two teams that will be a part of your playing experience. Referring back to the Thursday Night broadcasts in the final years of our original iteration, the iconic crew of Rece Davis, Jesse Palmer and David Pollack will be on the call for the other games on your Dynasty and Road to Glory schedule.

Each commentary team will be available in Play Now when you’re looking to just get a quick game in.

We chose these talented individuals because of the impact they have had in the commentary space for College Football and we felt it was best to give you the most authentic and unique experience to date. The team recorded 68,000+ lines, over 870 hours, and all of it was recorded remotely in the talent's homes and in at least 3 different countries. Each member of our commentary team couldn’t be more excited to be a part of this experience!

Studio Updates

As fans of College Football, we know that week-to-week games are happening at all times. Through studio updates, you’ll be informed of the latest news from around the country. Long-time ESPN Studio Host, Kevin Connors, will be jumping in from time to time to call out national upsets, scores for games you care about in your conference, or updates on how your rival is doing when in Dynasty mode. These updates will happen whether you are playing in a Dynasty that is offline or online. For an Online Dynasty, you’ll hear about scores from other members in your Dynasty if they have already finished their match-up that week.

Celebrations

No season is complete without a championship celebration. Celebrations come with the glamor, flair, and the most important aspect of it all, the hardware. We built each trophy from scratch, matching the weight and dimensions of real life trophies such as the National Championship. After building the foundations, we brought the trophies into the motion capture studio and had the team hold these trophies as if they had just won. We did this to maximize our authenticity when you celebrate in-game, you will see players actually feeling the weight when they hold the Championship trophy.

PIP and Game Flow

Presentation is not just about the visuals and audio but how the game flows and feels from play to play. We have built a whole new look and feel to the game that takes our authentic atmosphere & pageantry wrapped into our new streamlined PIP Dynamic Playcall experience.

Team members Chris Husein, UCF Alumni - Sr. Experience Designer, and Alejandro Thornton, FSU and FIU Alumni - Tech Designer, helped develop the new play call screen very early in the production cycle. We tested dozens of layout variations throughout the year until hitting on the right one. In this new streamlined experience you won’t miss a beat of the action and will be informed on important information pertaining to the situation and game. Once the play is finished, the screen shrinks to the top left corner as replays and pageantry continue to show, you can start navigating the playbook while also viewing important updates / informative data in the top right corner.

Types of information panels you will see throughout the game:

  • Stat Compares - Today, Season, Career, vs Last Week, vs Opponent
  • Impact Players - Who are they, why are they impact players showing their abilities
  • Ranking - Top players from around the country in TD’s, rushing yards, etc…
  • Rankings - Conference, Media and Coaches Poll, and potential Playoff brackets
  • Wear and Tear, Field Goal Kicker range and much more
  • We have over 400 panels to keep each game feeling fresh and new

Protecting the value of "as it is" captured by creators - taking on fake images with real-time technology -.

June 28, 2024

presentation about value of time

With the remarkable evolution of AI (Artificial Intelligence), while new possibilities for creative expression are expanding, the proliferation of fake images and false information has also become a global social issue. At this year's Corporate Strategy Meeting, Chairman and CEO, Kenichiro Yoshida stated that it is great of significance for creators to capture the real world "as it is", and introduced Sony's Camera Authenticity Solution, which utilizes real-time technology, an area Sony's focusing on, to verify the authenticity of captured data. We spoke with Sony employees involved in developing the Camera Authenticity Solution to learn about the background to developing the technology and hear about their passion for the project.

Real vs. Fake - The Value of Photography That Captures Reality -

In recent years, the evolution and proliferation of photo editing application software utilizing AI make it possible for anyone to easily apply advanced editing to images using a PC or smartphone. While this is expanding new possibilities for creative expression, the proliferation of fake images has also led to growing concern about the impact of fake images as a social issue. Yosuke Hiratsuka, who has been involved in developing camera shooting, editing and encryption functions, came to think about the importance of verifying authenticity.

"What would happen if we couldn't distinguish real and fake images?" The first thing that came to Hiratsuka's mind was the faces of photographers he had built relationships with over many years through camera development. "Their photographs contain all the time and effort they have invested into capturing that moment with their passion to convey the truth. However, if real and fake images become indistinguishable, the value of their hard work could vanish in an instant. We must protect the true value, or authenticity, embodied in their photographs," says Hiratsuka, who feels a strong sense of mission to work on the authenticity of photos.

presentation about value of time

Ryoko Shimokawa, who oversees Sony's camera cloud business, sees significance in verifying authenticity says "As a camera manufacturer, using Sony's technology to contribute to creators is an important mission. It also leads to safer utilization of AI that brings new possibilities for creative expression."

The Key to Authenticity is "Real-time"

The Camera Authenticity Solution was developed in response to these circumstances, and is currently being offered to select news agencies*. During shooting, the Alpha 1, Alpha 9 III, Alpha 7S III, and Alpha 7 IV, the full-frame mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras equipped with this technology provide the in-camera digital signature to the image file indicating that the image was actually captured with the camera. According to Hiratsuka, what sets this signature technology apart is that it is applied in real-time at the time of shooting, which is crucial for verify authenticity. "For example, if you add a signature after importing the image to a PC, there is a possibility it could be edited or altered in the meantime. Applying the signature instantly in the camera at the time of shooting eliminates that concern."

On the value of real-time processing, Shimokawa says, "The more time passes after shooting, the more chances there are for fakes to be generated. To leave no room for such chances, we can leverage our strength of real-time processing the instant the subject is captured by the image sensor."

Moreover, to verify that a photo is authentic, there is one more indispensable element in addition to the signature technology, which is the ability to judge whether the captured subject itself is "real" or not. Without this, there is a pitfall that even if you are capturing a fake image or video with the camera, it would recognize it as "real."

This potential problem was solved by 3D-depth information identification processing realized with the proprietary technology in the image sensor developed by Sony, demonstrating the advantages of the CMOS image sensors being produced by Sony Semiconductor Solutions. As Hiratsuka recalls, "The missing piece we were exploring in addition to the signature technology fell into place." This technology can verify whether a real, 3D object is being captured or if it is a photograph of an image or video.

Shimokawa says, "Sony has an environment where engineers from each business segment can discuss what can be achieved with each other's technologies. This real-time technology was something we were able to make possible thanks to our connections across the Sony Group."

Desire to Continue Engaging Sincerely with Creators

Sony is working closely with creators and press photographers who are tackling the urgent issue of fake news and is utilizing their feedback on the Camera Authenticity Solution for further improvement. Shimokawa looks ahead, saying "We want to protect the value of truth. And we will continue discussions with them to make this technology available to more people."

In addition, the Camera Authenticity Solution now supports the C2PA format, a standards-setting body that will develop technical specifications on content provenance and authentication by certifying the source and history of media content. With this update, the authenticity information embedded on the image can be maintained from capture through publication when an image is repeatedly edited in C2PA-compliant software. This accomplishment is a result of Sony's participation on the C2PA steering committee and contribution to developing industry standards.

By offering comprehensive support, Sony aims to protect the transparency of content all the way until the last moment the content reaches to the customer, and this commitment is backed up by Sony's culture of a "creator-first". "We are increasing opportunities to engage in direct dialogue with users of our products to understand them better. Because we see creators who are seriously engaged in their creative activities up close, we naturally feel a desire to contribute to their work," says Shimokawa.

The Camera Authenticity Solution has been made possible by the passion and desire of the employees to support photographers and the real-time technologies achieved by integrating Sony Group's technologies. Sony will continue to support solutions that pursue reality and contribute to creators and society.

The most avid travel hackers often shoot me a skeptical glare when I utter the words “ timeshare presentation ” as a way to get discounted hotel stays and piles of points to use toward future travel.

The deal is pretty simple: receive a heavily discounted hotel or resort stay and other perks in exchange for attending a timeshare presentation — better known as a sales pitch.

The last email offer I received was in March 2023 from Hilton Grand Vacations. It dangled a three-night stay in Las Vegas plus 50,000 Hilton Honors points in exchange for $149 and sitting through a 90-minute talk.

Having attended four timeshare presentations over the last decade, I find that the discounted hotel stay and extra perks — like hotel points and discounted spa treatments or amusement park tickets — are worth my time. All you have to do is attend the presentation and say “no” (sometimes several times) if the timeshare is not right for you.

Here’s how to get nearly free vacations with timeshare presentations.

Determine the value of the promotion, then negotiate

I've successfully negotiated the terms of a timeshare presentation in the past, so I called Hilton to see if it could sweeten the deal with upgrades like more travel rewards points or food and beverage credits.

After reviewing the terms of my promotion — and with some very polite back and forth — I requested an increase to 100,000 points and a waiver on the additional resort fees of $34 per night. After a long wait, the sales representative’s supervisor approved the deal if I accepted it on the spot, which I did.

According to NerdWallet’s valuation , Hilton points are generally worth about 0.5 cent each , giving the 100,000 points an approximate value of $500. The nightly room rate over my travel dates was $249, plus $34 per night in resort fees. That gives this deal a value of over $1,300 in exchange for 90-minutes of my time and the $149 I paid for the package.

Understand the restrictions and limitations

Certain hotels require attending the presentation with a spouse, while others may have specific income requirements. Ask about blackout dates, package expiration dates and any other hidden fees (like those pesky resort fees).

For Hilton, I had to verbally confirm my income was above a certain threshold and attest that I hadn’t participated in another Hilton-based timeshare presentation over the past six months.

Once I purchased the package, Hilton gave me 12 months to use it. After my reservation in Las Vegas was booked, Hilton assigned a set date and time for the timeshare presentation. If you miss it, the company can charge the full cash rate for the stay and revoke any perks offered.

Also be aware that you won't earn hotel points or elite night credits with the host brand for the promotional stay.

Know what to expect at the sales pitch

The pitch usually starts with an introduction to your salesperson and a general video or presentation about the company’s timeshare program. You’ll then be whisked away to an office, where the salesperson asks about your finances and travel habits. You’ll be introduced to a rubric of costs to stay at different tiers of properties — costs that may fluctuate seasonally or during periods of high demand.

Many timeshare companies, even Disney , have transitioned to a points-based system, where you buy points used to make reservations after you’re an “owner,” but be aware these points are independent of the chain’s loyalty program.

Once the salesperson estimates the cost required to live your best timeshare life, they’ll take you on a tour of a model property. You’ll then return to the office and be introduced to the “closer” — the person who ran the numbers and tries to pressure you into signing.

The sales professionals will tug at your emotions with aspirational travel fantasies while making you feel like family. Remember, they are incentivized by commissions to make you buy a timeshare through signing a contract that can last the rest of your life.

Timing the pitch using my phone allowed me to politely tell the salesperson their time was up once the required duration under the promotion elapsed (usually 90 to 120 minutes).

Be in the 'no'

Timeshares are big business, with $10.6 billion in domestic sales in 2023, according to a 2024 study by the American Resort Development Association (ARDA), a trade association for the timeshare industry. For comparison, that’s similar to the annual revenue of Major League Baseball in 2023.

Hospitality companies wouldn’t offer these lucrative promotions unless enough people were buying what they’re selling.

Jason Gamel, president and CEO of ARDA, says that approximately 2 in 10 people decide to buy after a sales presentation. And that purchase, of course, comes with a financial commitment. The average purchase transaction was $24,170 in 2023, according to the ARDA study, with average annual interest rates near 15%.

This amount covers the initial cost to join the timeshare and the financing of the balance but does not include ongoing costs such as membership dues, maintenance fees or other required resort operation expenses.

If you’re not in the market for a timeshare, no sales pitch should persuade you to get one. Before the pitch, think (or talk) through the process of saying “no,” and if you have a spouse who'll be attending, include them in the conversation.

Later, if you change your mind and decide to sign a contract, a state’s rescission laws could allow the contract to be canceled within a certain window after signing — usually between five and 10 business days.

“I think that’s important because it does help people evaluate whether they’re making the right decision for them, and it gives them a very easy way to say no after everything is said and done," says Gamel.

Simply pack up and go

Despite skepticism from my travel-hacking cohorts, timeshare promotions allow me to save money on travel now and earn rewards to use for free travel in the future. The process won’t be for everyone, but if you’re willing to sacrifice a couple of hours and know the power of saying “no,” it could do the same for you.

Amazon becomes the 5th U.S. company to reach $2 trillion in stock market value

NEW YORK — Amazon joined the exclusive $2 trillion club Wednesday after Wall Street investors pushed the value of the e-commerce giant's stock past that threshold.

Shares in Amazon.com Inc. finished the day up almost 4%, giving the Seattle-based company a stock market valuation of $2.01 trillion. Its stock has gained 52% in the past 12 months, partly driven by enthusiasm for the company's investments in artificial intelligence.

Amazon now joins Google's parent Alphabet, software behemoth Microsoft, iPhone maker Apple and chip maker Nvidia among companies with valuations of at least $2 trillion.

Authors push back on the growing number of AI 'scam' books on Amazon

Last week, Nvidia hit $3 trillion and briefly became the most valuable company on Wall Street. Nvidia's chips are used to power many AI applications and its valuation has soared as a result.

Amazon has also been making big investments in AI as global interest has grown in the technology. Most of the focus has been on business-focused products, including AI models and a chatbot called Q, which Amazon makes available to businesses that use its cloud computing unit AWS.

“A big part of the valuation boost has been cloud and AI,” said Wedbush tech analyst Dan Ives. “Amazon is going to be a major player in the AI revolution.”

In April, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said that AI capabilities have reaccelerated AWS’ growth and that it was on pace for $100 billion in annual revenue. The unit's growth slowed last year as companies cut down on costs amid high inflation.

Amazon has also invested $4 billion in the San Francisco-based AI company Anthropic to develop so-called foundation models that underpin generative AI systems. In addition, Amazon makes and designs its own AI chips.

Outside of its cloud business, Amazon has cut costs significantly since late 2022, laying off more than 27,000 corporate employees across several divisions. It reported revenue and profits for the first quarter of the year, aiding by growth in AWS as well as its core retail business and advertising. All those things are boosting investor sentiments, said Neil Saunders, the managing director at GlobalData Retail.

If ai is so good, why are there still so many jobs for translators.

“Certainly, there are downsides, but these are mostly external — such as the threat from the FTC,” Saunders said, alluding to the federal agency's antitrust lawsuit against the company.

But, he said, “investors see these clouds as a long way off so they are not dampening the current valuation.”

How To Foster Integrity As A Core Value In Your Leadership Style

Integrity is a cornerstone of effective leadership. It embodies honesty, trustworthiness, and moral uprightness, regardless of the short-term financial implications. Leaders who prioritize integrity cultivate a culture of transparency and trust with their teams, laying the foundation for sustained organizational success.

Many leaders say they want to lead with integrity. But it’s one thing to call yourself an integrity-driven leader; it’s another to actually be one. Just 36% of US-based employees have confidence that their employer would do what is right if they raised a concern about ethics and integrity, according to a recent Gallup survey. Leaders who truly want to cultivate integrity as a core value in their leadership style must lead by example, build a culture of accountability, and prioritize open communication. Here’s a closer look at how you can achieve this.

Set The Example At The Top

The most powerful way to instill integrity in your leadership style is to model it consistently. “A leader’s actions speak louder than words. Your team is always looking to you for cues on how to behave, especially in challenging situations. Demonstrate integrity in every decision you make, whether big or small. This includes being honest about mistakes, giving credit where it's due, and treating everyone with respect,” says Moe Rock , CEO of the Los Angeles Tribune and author of The Moral Compass.

For instance, if a project doesn't meet expectations, own up to any shortcomings and work collaboratively to find solutions. In addition to building trust, this openness shows your team that it’s okay to acknowledge and learn from mistakes. By exemplifying integrity, you set a standard for your team to follow, creating a ripple effect throughout the organization. “A leader’s actions are indeed central to integrity, but followers and stakeholders are those who assess this integrity on a daily basis. Although each individual judges a leader’s integrity differently, there is consensus regarding some of the criteria through which they screen their superiors,” says Kathryn Christie , citing laws, codes of conduct and ethical standards, and informal norms and values expected by stakeholders as a few significant ways leadership integrity is assessed.

Build A Culture Of Accountability

“You can’t expect others to act with integrity if you don’t own up to your mistakes. To foster a culture of accountability, establish clear expectations and hold everyone accountable for their actions, including yourself. This means setting transparent goals, providing regular feedback, and implementing fair consequences for unethical behavior,” says Rock.

Best High-Yield Savings Accounts Of 2024

Best 5% interest savings accounts of 2024.

Creating systems that encourage accountability, including real-time performance reviews, peer evaluations, and transparent reporting mechanisms, can help maintain high standards. “As a leader, you should encourage your team to take ownership of their work and be responsible for their actions. Ensuring everyone understands that they are accountable fosters a culture where integrity is valued and upheld,” Rock advises.

Prioritize Open Communication

Integrity thrives when communication channels are open. Encourage your team to voice their opinions, concerns, and ideas without fear of retaliation. This openness promotes trust and allows for the early identification and resolution of potential issues. “You need to create a culture that isn’t afraid to have people raise ethical questions, that welcomes bad news, and that celebrates employees who speak out about problems,” says Robert Chestnut for the Harvard Business Review .

Regularly engage with your team through meetings, surveys, and one-on-one conversations. “It’s not enough to ask employees to report unethical behavior. You need to actively listen to their feedback and demonstrate that you value their input by making necessary changes. Transparent communication about the company’s goals, challenges, and successes further reinforces a culture of integrity. When your team feels heard and informed, they are more likely to act with honesty and integrity,” says Rock.

Emphasize Ethical Decision-Making

Integrate ethical considerations into your decision-making processes. This involves looking beyond what is most profitable or convenient to what is right and fair. “When you’re faced with tough choices, which you will be if you’re in a leadership position, weigh the potential impact on all stakeholders, including employees, customers, and the community. Work with your leadership team to develop a code of ethics outlining expected standards of behavior. Ensure that these guidelines are communicated clearly and integrated into training programs. Openly prioritizing ethics signals to your team that integrity is non-negotiable,” says Rock.

Integrity is the bedrock of effective leadership and organizational success. Without integrity, leaders and their organizations put themselves at risk for litigation, public retribution, and sinking profits. Integrating it into your leadership practices will yield lasting benefits for your team and your organization.
