Verizon’s new business unlimited plans offer progressive savings and enhanced features.

From double the mobile hotspot data to increased international coverage, new Business Unlimited plans deliver what customers asked for

NEW YORK, July 13, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Verizon Business today unveiled its new Business Unlimited plans, a three-tier structure that provides value for businesses of all sizes: Start 5G ($30/line/month with 5 lines and more), Plus 5G ($40/line/month with 5+ lines), and Pro 5G ($45/line/month with 5+ lines).

Following exhaustive customer research, Verizon Business developed new plans that catered to expressed customer needs, including more hotspot data, security, and more international value. Plan features include the following:

Start 5G : Unlimited 4G LTE/5G Nationwide, and Verizon Call Filter, a feature that screens for unwanted calls

Plus 5G : double the mobile hotspot data (now 100 GB), Unlimited 5G Ultra Wideband, streaming at 1080p, Verizon Call Filter, and TravelPass (2 days per month: $20 monthly savings vs. purchasing them separately), which offers unlimited talk, text and data in 210+ countries and destinations

Pro 5G : double the mobile hotspot data (now 200 GB), Unlimited 5G Ultra Wideband, streaming at 1080p, Verizon Call Filter, TravelPass (4 days per month: $40 monthly savings vs. purchasing them separately), Business Mobile Secure Bundle, and 50% off a Business Unlimited Tablet Pro plan

“Our new plans are about more than savings, they’re about value,” said Iris Meijer, Chief Marketing Officer, Verizon Business. “We conducted extensive customer research to get a complete picture of what customers valued the most in their plans and what they wanted added. We built our new plans based on that feedback, and included the features that made the biggest impact for our customers at price points that made sense for businesses of all sizes.”

Each plan offers progressive savings, with every additional smartphone line decreasing in cost by $5-15, reaching the greatest savings at the 5-line mark: $30, $40, and $45, respectively (auto-pay/paper-free billing discount also included). Additionally, Verizon Business is currently running a limited-time BYOD (bring your own device) promotion, in which customers can save $600 over 24 months by activating a Business Unlimited Plus 5G or Unlimited Pro 5G plan when they bring their existing number and smartphone.

Business Unlimited 5G customers have access to 5G coverage and the leading performance of Verizon 5G Ultra Wideband (UW), along with the powerful security bundle, Business Mobile Secure.

Verizon’s 5G Ultra Wideband network is available to more than 200 million people. 5G and 5G UW are available as part of select Business Unlimited 5G plans.

Our Verizon Business Internet review

' src=

Verizon offers one of the most varied collections of business internet plans in the nation with four very different service options: Fios (fiber), 5G, LTE, and a premium enterprise option Verizon calls Internet Dedicated. Because pricing is relatively static across Verizon’s various business internet offerings, accessibility dictates which you should choose. While we think Verizon is one the best internet service providers (ISPs) in the nation, some of its business services are certainly better than others. All things considered, Fios is by far our favorite Verizon Business Internet service; it provides more speed and a superior connection for the same price as Verizon’s other business offerings.

Verizon 5G Business Internet

Verizon lte business internet, verizon internet dedicated, fees, equipment, and contracts, bundle discounts, compare verizon business internet plans and pricing.

Which of Verizon’s several business internet types is best for your business will mostly depend on what’s available in your area. Without a significant difference in pricing, the Fios plans offer the most value and the highest-quality service. However, 5G and LTE may be solid picks for locations outside of Verizon’s fiber footprint.

Verizon Fios Business Internet plans

* Data effective 4/30/24. Offers and availability may vary by location and are subject to change

Key Features:

  • Fastest speeds
  • Most reliable
  • Symmetrical bandwidth (faster upload speeds)
  • Unlimited data

Verizon Fios is a fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) service, which delivers symmetrical multi-gigabit speeds via high-bandwidth fiber-optic cables. Symmetrical speeds mean you get equally fast download and upload speeds that are important for applications like video conferencing and large file transfers. As for reliability, Fios is as good as it gets. Even among other fiber ISPs, Verizon stands out, having earned the top reliability ratings from customers two years in a row. Fios’ main drawback is its lack of availability: It’s mostly limited to the East Coast.

Fios is the best choice (if you have access to it), given Verizon’s business internet pricing doesn’t change much across its different tech types. It deals out faster download and upload speeds and is more reliable than Verizon’s 5G or LTE. That isn’t to say those services are not good, but Fios rests on one of the most impressive and well-maintained internet networks in the country. There’s not much that compares.

Key features

  • Very convenient (no cables)
  • Easy self-installation
  • 10-year price guarantee
  • Fast and reliable

Verizon now offers business internet through its superior cellular network, which has been considered the best in the U.S. for over two decades. According to the FCC, Verizon 5G Business Internet reaches most of the U.S., so if you can’t get Fios, this is a great option.

5G internet’s main strengths are simplicity and convenience. Because the service runs over cellular networks, self-installations are quick and incredibly easy. And if you are going to power your internet connection with a cell network, you can’t do better than Verizon’s when it comes to speed and reliability. 5G internet has received excellent feedback from customers across the board, earning several top scores in our most recent customer satisfaction survey .

Save $30/mo. when you bundle a qualifying LTE Business Internet or 5G Business Internet plan with a Business Unlimited smartphone plan.

  • Most convenient (no cables)
  • 1–3 year price guarantee

Verizon’s LTE internet service is a good pick for businesses in more rural areas or locations without cable, fiber, or 5G internet. For areas with few connectivity options, LTE services can be a game-changer for businesses and even open up new areas for expansion that were previously off limits due to no or poor internet access.

But, in no circumstance do we recommend this service above any fiber, cable, or 5G internet service. Verizon’s LTE is similarly priced to its other offerings with substantially slower speeds, a limiting 300GB data cap, and throttled speeds after your first 50GB. This is not a service for companies that rely on high-bandwidth connectivity. But if you just need to send and receive emails, process payments, and access the web, Verizon’s LTE can get you there.

Internet Dedicated is a premium business internet service for organizations that critically depend on their internet service. Verizon provides dedicated symmetrical bandwidth, guaranteeing a certain level performance 24/7. When other companies are suffering from typical network congestion, Internet Dedicated customers circumvent the issue using its direct, guaranteed bandwidth.

This is heavy-duty corporate internet service, suitable for organizations with multiple data centers and complex connectivity needs. These services are highly variable and customizable, so you’ll need to discuss your needs with a Verizon representative in order to get a rate quote.

Plan details vary considerably from one plan to the next. Verizon’s 5G business plans are the most generous. The LTE plans have the strictest policies. The Fios fiber plans fall somewhere in between.

Activation fees

Equipment rental fees, term contracts.

All Fios and 5G business plans come with unlimited data. But Verizon’s LTE Business plans have monthly data caps as low as 300GB; that’s another reason why the LTE plans are only suitable for businesses with modest connectivity needs.

Installation

Verizon Fios will likely require a professional installation, which is common for fiber internet. The 5G and LTE fixed wireless service usually only require a quick and easy self-installation, except for the 400Mbps 5G Business Internet plan, which requires a professional install. With all services, additional charges for inside wiring and more complex installations may apply.

Bundling your Verizon Business internet with a business mobile plan can introduce very substantial savings. If you combine any of Verizon’s wireless business internet services (5G or LTE) with a Verizon Business Unlimited mobile line, you save $30 per month for every internet line attached to the account (up to six lines). This offer is currently limited to Verizon 5G and LTE business internet.

Verdict: Which Verizon Business Internet service is best?

Normally this is the part where we say you should match your needs with the right plan, but, if you have access to Verizon Fios, there’s little reason to go with anything else. You get more speed for the same price, plus the peace of mind of being on what’s arguably the most reliable major internet network in the nation.

If you don’t have access to Verizon Fios, Verizon 5G Business Internet should suffice for most use cases. 5G internet is still young, but in the last few years, we’ve received exceedingly positive feedback from 5G customers. Latency and speed don’t seem to be an issue, and the convenience of a completely wireless service is second to none.

Verizon’s LTE business is great for connecting business in low connectivity areas without many other options. But given the prices, data caps, and slower speeds, LTE won’t work for everyone. It’s far too limited for a busy office, but shops and service stations in remote areas may find just what they need with Verizon LTE.

FAQ about Verizon Business internet

Where is verizon fios business internet available.

According to the latest FCC data, Verizon Fios Business Internet availability is mostly limited to the East Coast with service in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maryland, Delaware, and a very small coverage area in Mississippi. FCC data is usually at least six months behind current coverage, so certain coverage areas may not be represented with 100% accuracy.

Is Verizon Fios better than Verizon 5G Internet?

Yes, Verizon Fios is a superior service to Verizon 5G. Fios speeds are not only faster but also symmetrical, meaning your upload speeds are much faster than they would be on Verizon 5G. Fiber networks are also more reliable and have lower latency for time-sensitive applications like video calls. The final nail in the 5G coffin is the pricing; 5G doesn’t come with a reduction in price—you actually pay more per megabyte of speed.

With the widest 4G network coverage in the United States, Verizon is one of the largest and most popular network carriers available. The top-performing carrier offers a vast range of business cell phone plans and services to suit businesses of all sizes.

Compared to competitors AT&T and T-Mobile , Verizon leads as the network provider with the strongest and widest reach , making it the ideal choice for businesses with teams in remote and urban areas. However, strong network coverage comes at a price. Verizon is currently one of the more expensive options, with plans going up to $1,000.00 per month.

Verizon offers strong network coverage, 5G access, and adaptable plans that can meet the communication needs of businesses , individuals, and families. The carrier is a great choice for remote teams or individuals that travel a lot. Verizon's international plans provide unlimited data and texting in over 210 international countries.

Verizon's biggest shortfall is the price . While the network provider is one of the best carriers for businesses with multiple teams, it does cost significantly more than its top competitors and won't be ideal for startups and businesses with small communication budgets.

Reputation:

**Verizon has just 20 complaints with the BBB. Considering it has nearly 120 million customers in the U.S. that's not too many.

Verison also offers better network coverage throughout the U.S.

Verizon vs. AT&T Comparison:

Verizon vs. t-mobile:.

Verizon and T-Mobile both offer unlimited text, talk, and data. However, for just $70.00 per month, Verizon's Unlimited Start plan is the more affordable choice, providing unlimited 4G LTE data and 480p DVD-quality streaming. T-Mobile's most basic Unlimited Business plan requires a minimum of 2-lines and starts at $120.00 per month.

Verizon vs. T-Mobile Comparison:

Verizon business plans:, flexible business wireless plan:.

Verizon's Flexible Business Plan was created for businesses that require a customizable option. Using one shared data pool, users are able to add as many lines as they need for their business and customize their data allowance for each line. In addition, customers can use mobile hotspots bundled with their tariff, and have access to unlimited domestic voice and text messaging, and international messaging services.

The Verizon Business Unlimited plans are created for a minimum of 4 devices. The pricing mentioned below should therefore be multiplied by 4.

Unlimited Essential:

The Essential plan is Verizon's lowest priced plan, with prices starting at $30.00 per month for a tablet and $35.00 for a smartphone with device payment. This plan is best suited for startups and small businesses who only require basic features, such as DVD-quality streaming, unlimited data, talk, and text, email access, and unlimited international messaging and mobile hotspot.

Unlimited Business:

The Unlimited Business plan starts at $35.00 per month for a basic phone and comes equipped with the exact same features as the Essential plan, including unlimited text, talk, and data, both domestic and internationally. Verizon unlimited data plans

  • Prepaid plans

If you're shopping for a new mobile phone service provider, Verizon might be at the top of your list. It's one of the largest carriers in the US, and it has a variety of unlimited data plans to fit your needs.

But, with several different unlimited data plans (and the growing Verizon 5G network, which adds value to its unlimited plans in some regions), it can be difficult to know just what you're getting from a Verizon unlimited plan.

We've gone over the fine details of what each of Verizon's unlimited plans offers, what they'll cost you, and what alternative options might serve you better. We'll give you a breakdown of all the deals, and then help you figure out if Verizon's unlimited plans are really what you need.

  • Here are the best from the carrier - the finest Verizon Wireless plans
  • Discover the US's very best unlimited data plans
  • Want to see prepaid as well? see the best cell phone plans
  • Want Apple? Then checkout the best Verizon iPhone deals

Verizon's post-paid unlimited data plans are the main offering from the carrier, although it does also have prepaid options (see below). These plans tend to be fairly pricey but offer the most perks, mobile hotspot allowance, and the best data speeds overall. You'll also get a discounted price per line when you add in multiple lines on a single plan - up to four, in fact. You can also get a saving by using the autopay feature.

Verizon has recently switched up the way it handles the additional perks for its unlimited data plans. New for 2023 is the 'myPlan' system which allows you to pick one of three plan tiers and then bolt-on additional perks for $10 per month each. These include things like a Disney+ subscription or more mobile hotspot data. We've included a full list of additional perks just down below underneath the current plan tiers you can choose at Verizon.

verizon wireless business plans unlimited data

Verizon Unlimited Welcome: from $25/mo per line The first tier of Verizon's new post-paid plan setup is the Unlimited Welcome plan, which is aimed at being the more budget-friendly option. With this plan, you'll get unlimited data, talk, and texting on the 'standard' 5G network, which means your speeds might be a little slower versus the more premium tier when your local area is busy. The Unlimited Welcome plan also has a few restrictions on phone deal eligibility, home internet discounts, and connected device discounts. In short, if you're looking for just the basics this can be a good option, although you'll want to factor in things like eligibility for trade-in rebates on flagship devices before you opt for the cheaper plan. 1-line: $60/mo | 2-line: $100/mo | 3-line: $105/mo   | 4-line: $100/mo

Verizon Unlimited Plus: from $30/mo per line1-line: 2-line: 3-line:4-line:

Verizon Unlimited Plus:  from $30/mo per line The Unlimited Plus tier is a great option for most users since it offers a good level of perks baked in for a relatively reasonable price. These include eligibility for rebates and savings on flagship devices, 30GB of mobile hotspot data, and unlimited data on the quickest 5G wideband network. You'll also get an additional saving of up to 50% for one accessory line and a fantastic bring-your-own saving of up to $540 (as good as you'll get at Verizon). If you're a data-hungry user who doesn't need a huge amount of mobile hotspot data then the Unlimited Plus plan is a good basis for the various optional perks like Disney+ or Walmart+ membership. 1-line:  $65/mo | 2-line:  $110/mo | 3-line:  $120/mo | 4-line:  $120/mo

verizon wireless business plans unlimited data

Verizon Unlimited Ultimate:  from $40/mo per line The latest addition to Verizon's new 'myPlan' system is the Unlimited UItimate plan. As you've probably surmised from the name - this tier offers the best Verizon has to offer right now. Included in the price here is a whopping 60GB of mobile hotspot allowance, one of the highest on the market right now, and 10GB of unthrottled international data in over 200 countries. Being on this plan tier will automatically entitle you to the best possible savings on device upgrades and up to 50% off two accessory plans. While pricey, this one is definitely a good option if you're a power user who wants to use multiple lines. 1-line:  $75/mo | 2-line:  $130/mo | 3-line:  $150/mo | 4-line:  $160/mo

Additional perks for postpaid unlimited plans

  • Disney+ Premium, Hulu, ESPN+ bundle
  • 100 GB mobile hotspot
  • Apple One bundle (Apple Music, TV+, Arcade, iCloud)
  • Walmart+ membership
  • Apple Music Family
  • Smartwatch data & safety (discount on a line)
  • +play monthly credit
  • 3 TravelPass days
  • 2 TB cloud storage

All the above perks are costed at $10 per month and you can change them out at any time during your plan duration. Note, if you'd prefer to skip the perks then that's also a completely valid option - all perks are completely optional.

Prepaid options for Verizon Unlimited plans

Verizon Prepaid Unlimited: $60/mo with autopay

Verizon Prepaid Unlimited: $60/mo with autopay If you're open to a pre-paid plan and don't need some of the extras, you can sign up for this unlimited plan. You'll get unlimited calls, texts, and data for a cheaper single-line price than any of the other individual plans. You won't, however, get any of the streaming perks or cloud storage that are included in some of the postpaid options. With 50GB of premium network access (that can't be deprioritized) and 25GB of mobile hotspot data, it's pretty good value.

Image

Visible Wireless: prepaid plans from $25 per month In addition to Verizon's own prepaid plans, you may want to consider checking out Visible Wireless. This subsidiary carrier of Verizon specializes in superb cost-effective unlimited data plans for as little as $25 per month. Compared to Verizon, there are no contracts or term requirements to get the cheapest rate possible so it's well worth considering. Note, however, that you may be subject to deprioritization on Visible if your local area is busy but this can depend from location to location.

Check out our Visible Wireless plans guide for more detailed information on this carrier.

Do I really need an unlimited Verizon plan?

Unlimited data plans are becoming the norm from carriers, with many doing away with their other types of plans. Verizon does have some other prepaid plans with limited that may work for some users, but its post-paid shared data plans don't offer a compelling value compared to its unlimited plans. If you don't frequently stream video and music, you may be able to get by without an unlimited plan.

Verizon has a 15GB prepaid plan for $35 a month that would likely be a great value for anyone who doesn't watch a lot of video on the go, and it even allows you to use that data for mobile hotspot. Even if you watch the occasional video on mobile data, 15GB of data offers plenty of flexibility.

If you're not sure how much data you use in a regular month, you should be able to check on your phone. Many phones will track how much data you've used each month, so you can have a look toward the end of the month and see whether you're using enough to justify an unlimited plan.

What other plans does Verizon have?

While Verizon's unlimited plans are on its flagship plans, it offers plenty of other options. You can choose from a number of postpaid plans that let you share a small data allotment with the other users on your account. You can also select from a number of prepaid plans that include data allotments or even unlimited data.

You can find out all about Verizon Wireless plans here. We've looked at all the specific details on each plan, so you'll know exactly what you're getting from each.

Is Verizon unlimited really unlimited?

Verizon's unlimited plans are all somewhat different, and while they all have some limits, the actual amount of data you're allowed to use is unlimited. Whether you're on the old Verizon Plan with unlimited data or one of the current unlimited plans, you get unlimited data.

But, your speeds may be limited, and certain types of data may be limited.

For instance, Verizon places limits on mobile hotspot data and streaming video quality. It also will give higher priority to the data speeds of other users after you've exceeded a certain level of data usage in a month. The current exception is for users on the 5G network, which have no bandwidth restrictions applied to general data, streaming or mobile hotspot.

What are the best phones I can get from Verizon?

If you want to get a great phone from Verizon, your options aren't limited. Verizon carries many of the best phones on the market. You can get the latest iPhone or the newest Samsung smartphone, and there are plenty of budget options to choose from. Here's our guide on the best Verizon phones available . But, if you're not planning to buy a phone directly from Verizon, you can also check out the best unlocked phones , which will let you activate with Verizon and change to another mobile carrier whenever you want.

  • Verizon MVNOs

We've got some good news if you want one of the best Verizon phone plans for your wireless service. Because Verizon places such an emphasis on plans with unlimited data, chances are whatever offer you decide upon will feature one of the best unlimited data plans out there.

And the bad news? Verizon doesn't make it easy to pick from the multiple unlimited data options that are available.

1. The quick list 2. The best Verizon plan overall 3. The best Verizon prepaid plan 4. The best Verizon family plan 5. Verizon unlimited plan add-ons 6. 5G coverage at Verizon 7. How to choose your Verizon plan 8. Verizon MVNOs

That's because the three unlimited options among Verizon's postpaid service offer a range of rates — $65 to $90 for a single line — without a lot of explanation on how each option differs. That is, unless wading into the fine print of various Verizon plans is your idea of a good time.

That's where we come in. We're always on the search for the best cell phone plans overall, so we stay up to date on what various options have to offer — including Verizon's plans. So we can tell you what separates Unlimited Welcome (basic coverage with 5G service), Unlimited Plus (faster 5G coverage along with hotspot data) and Unlimited Ultimate (international travel benefits). And if you don't need unlimited data, we can tell you whether Verizon's prepaid plans are worth considering. (Spoiler alert: they are!)

If you're looking for more ways to save at Verizon, we routinely check for the best Verizon phone deals . (A lot of those offers require you to commit to an unlimited data plan, so that's another reason to familiarize yourself with Verizon's different options.) You also can find some decent discounts with our Verizon promo codes , so it's worth taking a look at them before you proceed through the checkout.

Let's take a closer at the best Verizon phone plans currently available and whether the options at the best phone carrier fit your needs and budget.

Recent updates

Starting in June, Verizon is raising the cost of connecting your smartwatch to its next to $15/month, up from $10. That's something to keep in mind if you need to include a smartwatch with your monthly wireless service.

The quick list

Unlimited data for $80 at Verizon

Verizon's Unlimited Plus is the best choice if you want unlimited data, thanks to its faster 5G coverage. The cheaper Unlimited Welcome plan can access Verizon's nationwide 5G network, but Unlimited Plus can tap into the faster Ultra Wideband service. Plus, the plan comes with 30GB of hotspot data. Other perks, like Disney's streaming service and international Travel Passes, are available as $10 add-ons.

15GB for $35 at Verizon

Verizon's prepaid plans cram a lot of data in for the price, making it one of the best prepaid phone plans out there. The best option gets you 15GB of data for $45 a month but if you set up AutoPay, that price drops to $35 after the first payment. Signing up for autopay means you no longer get Verizon's loyalty discounts for keeping your prepaid account open at Verizon, but the autopay discount is steeper than it was before.

Unlimited data for $120 at Verizon (four lines)

Unlimited Welcome starts at $65/month for one line of data and offers just the basics (though, as with Unlimited Plus, you can tack on extras through $10 add-ons). For households on a budget, though, this might be the best way to get unlimited data as four lines will cost just $120/month. Discounts from trading in your current phone can lower that monthly rate further when you switch.

The best Verizon cell phone plan overall

best verizon phone plans

1. Verizon Unlimited Plus plan

Specifications, reasons to buy, reasons to avoid.

If you need just one line of unlimited data for your phone, we'd recommend Verizon's Unlimited Plus plan. It gives you access to Verizon's growing Ultra Wideband 5G coverage, which is Verizon's fastest service. You can consume as much data as you like, and you even get 30GB of hotspot data.

Even with discounts as you add lines, Unlimited Plus can be pricey for families, with four lines of data costing $180 before you add any perks. (More on those in a moment.) Keep in mind that Verizon lets you mix-and-match lines so some members of the family can opt for Unlimited Plus while others get the less expensive Unlimited Welcome service.

We mentioned add-ons. Verizon offers things like Disney's streaming bundle, a family subscription to Apple Music, Travel Passes for international travel and cloud storage as $10/month add-ons. The good news is you can mix and match the add-ons you like and even drop them in months you don't need them. The bad news is that a lot of add-ons can supersize your monthly phone bill if you're not judicious about what you add.

Besides Unlimited Welcome, which we'll explore below, your other unlimited data option is Unlimited Ultimate. It costs $90 for one line of data after an autopay discount, but you get 60GB of hotspot data and unlimited calls and texting when you travel overseas. Unlimited Ultimate also includes 10GB of international premium data each month to use overseas, making it one of the best international phone plans if you do a lot of traveling.

The best prepaid Verizon phone plan

Verizon plans

2. Verizon 15GB prepaid plan

Verizon’s prepaid plans don’t feature a lot in the way of perks, as is often the case when comparing prepaid vs. postpaid phone service . But Verizon's prepaid options do pack in data, especially the carrier’s 15GB plan. Even better, it's easy to lower the cost of your plan right away, making this 15GB one of the best cheap cell phone plans we've found.

Verizon’s 15GB plan costs $45 a month, but enrolling in autopay now takes $10 off the monthly rate. A month after starting your service, your autopay discount kicks in, immediately dropping the cost of your Verizon prepaid plan.

Verizon continues to offer loyalty discounts for sticking with the carrier for coverage — $5 off after three months and and another $5 after nine months — but you can't apply both the autopay and loyalty discounts. It's either one or the other, so the lowest your bill can go is $35.

The only other prepaid options at Verizon are a pair of unlimited plans. They cost $50/month and $60/month after $10 autopay discounts. While all prepaid plans have access to Verizon's nationwide 5G service, only the $60 Unlimited Data Plus gives prepaid customers access to super-fast Ultra Wideband 5G.

The best Verizon phone plan for families

Verizon plans

3. Verizon Unlimited Welcome plan

Verizon phone plans used to be extremely pricey, but the Unlimited Welcome plan lets you access the network's coverage for just $65/month for a single line of data. There are caveats to that plan, of course — there's no hotspot data as there is with the Unlimited Plus plan and Verizon can slow your speeds if its network gets congested.

Still, if you need multiple lines, Unlimited Welcome may be the best family cell phone plan at Verizon. Thanks to multiline discounts, four lines of data cost just $120/month. A current discount when you bring your own phone lets you drop the cost of each line by $5 per month, lowering the monthly total to $100. The ability to mix-and-match plans means that some lines can have Unlimited Plus while others get Unlimited Welcome.

The same add-ons available for Unlimited Plus customers also work for Unlimited Welcome. So you could tack on the Disney bundle with Disney Plus, Hulu and ESPN Plus and pay $75 for a single line of data plus all three of those streaming services.

Verizon unlimited phone plan add-ons

Unlimited Plus, Unlimited Welcome and Unlimited Ultimate plans have access to 10 different add-ons, each of which cost $10/month. Through these add-ons, you can tack on extra benefits to your wireless plan. The end result is a benefit-packed offering that compares well to best cell phone plans out there, though the risk is that adding too many benefits can drive up the cost of your Verizon plan.

Verizon would counter that the advantage to making these extra benefits into separate add-ons is that you only need to add the things that appeal to you. If you don't do any international traveling, for example, you can safely ignore the Travel Pass benefit. What's more, Verizon's $10 pricing reflects a savings from what you would pay for the benefit on its own — anywhere from $5 to $25 in savings each month depending on the add-on.

Disney's bundle of Disney Plus, Hulu and ESPN Plus would normally cost you $19/month, so you're saving $9 by getting it through Verizon. (The Hulu and ESPN versions feature ads; Disney Plus does not.) Similarly, a bundle that features the ad-supported tiers of Netflix and Max saves you a little less than $7 when you buy Verizon's monthly bundle.

Here's the list of benefits available to customers with unlimited data plans at Verizon:

  • 100GB Mobile hotspot
  • Disney Bundle (Hulu, Disney Plus, ESPN Plus)
  • Netflix + Max (with ads)
  • Walmart+ Membership
  • Apple Music Family
  • 2TB Cloud Storage
  • Smartwatch Data and Safety
  • 3 TravelPass Days
  • +play monthly credit

5G coverage at Verizon

Verizon plans

Verizon launched its 5G network in 2019, but the real boost came with the 2022 launch of C-Band spectrum. That extended Verizon's fast Ultra Wideband network to more areas, with 200 million people now covered by C-Band speeds as of this writing. We tested Verizon's C-Band when it launched and came away impressed by Verizon's improved network.

As for Verizon nationwide 5G coverage, it reaches more than 230 million people at this point. That service isn't as fast as Ultra Wideband 5G or C-Band 5G, but it's more pervasive at this point, even if T-Mobile currently beats Verizon on 5G reach and average speed, according to the latest data from RootMetric s . That same report praises the reliability of Verizon's 5G coverage.

If you live in an area that's covered by Verizon's 5G network and want to experience faster coverage, unlimited data is the best Verizon plan to get. In particular, you'll want to opt for the Unlimited Plus or Unlimited Ultimate plans, as they include access to Ultra Wideband 5G. Prepaid plans get the nationwide 5G coverage as well, with the Unlimited Plus prepaid service enjoying Ultra Wideband speeds where available.

Many of the best 5G phones are available through Verizon including the Galaxy S24 Ultra , Galaxy Z Fold 5 and all four iPhone 15 models. Verizon also has some 5G exclusives like the TCL 30 V 5G . Some phones like the Motorola Razr foldables aren't available through Verizon, though.

The best Verizon phone deals can help you find the best prices on all sorts of handsets, 5G-capable models included.

How to choose the best Verizon plan

Finding the best Verizon phone plan for your wireless needs involves choosing between unlimited data or turning to the tiered data options from Verizon's prepaid service.

If your smartphone usage involves a lot of streaming — be it movies or music — you're going to want to look at Verizon's two unlimited options. Should your data needs begin and end with browsing the internet, checking email and the occasional social media post, you can probably get away with a tiered prepaid data plan.

If possible, look at your monthly data usage on your current plan to see how much you're consuming on average — if it's 15GB or less, you can save money each month by going prepaid. Just be aware that you won’t get as many perks with a prepaid as you would with one of Verizon’s postpaid options. Our guide on figuring out how much cell phone data you need each month can help you determine what kind of plan is best for your phone usage.

Other phone carriers on the Verizon network

While getting service directly from Verizon ensures you get Verizon's top speeds and best plans, there are other carrier options if you want to use Verizon's network without paying so much for your service. MVNOs — short for mobile virtual network operators — piggy-back on other carriers' networks to provide lower-cost service. The trade-off is that the parent carrier prioritizes its own customers so you might see slower speeds.

In the case of Verizon MVNOs , several use Verizon's superior network for their own 5G coverage. The best isn't technically an MVNO, as Visible is owned and operated by Verizon. Notably, Visible's unlimited data plans start at $25 a month — more than half of what you'd pay for service at Verizon, while using the same network. Visible now lets you pay for a year of service in advance, which lowers your monthly rate.

Xfinity Mobile also uses Verizon's network to offer phone service for Comcast customers who also get their internet service through the provider. Adding multiple lines lowers the cost of unlimited data plans to $30 per line with Xfinity Mobile, making it an attractive option for families. If you find Xfinity's pricing too high, Comcast launched the Now Mobile service , where a line of unlimited data costs $25/month. Like Xfinity, Now uses Verizon's network for coverage.

How do Verizon plans compare to rival carriers?

Verizon has fewer postpaid options than the best T-Mobile cell phone plans . As a result, the Uncarrier beats Verizon on price, with its bare-bones Essentials plan costing $60/month. Other T-Mobile plans pack in more perks as opposed to Verizon's approach with turning perks into $10 add-ons you can add and subtract at will.

AT&T has a lower-priced plan than Verizon's entry-level unlimited data offering, though the $51/month Value Plus plan is limited to just a single line of data. Other best AT&T phone plans are pretty comparable to what Verizon charges for unlimited data.

Are Verizon's plans good for seniors?

Verizon does offer a discounted unlimited data plan to anyone 55 years and older, but there’s a huge catch — Verizon’s 55+ plan is only available for people living in Florida. If you’ve got a Florida billing address, you can get two lines of unlimited data for $80 a month, with video streaming at 480p resolution, unlimited mobile hotspot data (though restricted to 2G speeds), and the ability to use your plan in Canada and Mexico. A single line of data costs $60.

T-Mobile offers discounted unlimited plans for seniors 55 years and older that are $10 less expensive than what Verizon charges, and those plans are available to anyone regardless of where they live. T-Mobile also includes 5G coverage with its senior plans. That's why we think T-Mobile has the best cell phone plans for seniors — unless you're in Florida, of course.

Best Unlimited Hotspot Plans

Hotspot data with no hard cap

4 out of 5 stars

Technically, every unlimited cell phone plan includes unlimited hotspot data, but there’s a catch. Once you run out of high-speed hotspot data, your data slows to an absolute crawl. We’re talking kilobits-per-second, people, which we haven’t talked about since the days of dial up internet.

In this roundup of the best unlimited hotspot data plans, we’re highlighting options that give you tons of high-speed hotspot data, and one plan ( Visible ) that gives you truly unlimited hotspot data capped at 5Mbps. As you can see from the table above, Visible costs significantly less than the premium plans from the big carriers, but you won’t get fast enough speeds to run a Zoom meeting with your hotspot data. If you want the premium hotspot data, you need to opt for a pricier plan.

Quick guide to this article:

  • Visible Wireless $35 Plan: Best value hotspot plan
  • Verizon Unlimited Ultimate: Best hotspot data speeds
  • T-Mobile Go5G Plus plan: Best unlimited hotspot for travelers
  • AT&T Unlimited Premium: Best security features

Other affordable options

Visible wireless $35 plan: best value.

We constantly recommend Visible wireless due to the fact that it offers awesome coverage on Verizon’s network and costs way less than your typical unlimited plan. In this case, Visible makes our top recommendation for the best unlimited hotspot plan because it’s the one option that truly offers unlimited hotspot data.

Your hotspot speeds will be limited to 5Mbps with Visible, but you can use as much as you want. You can’t stream high-def movies, or effectively play Call of Duty at such slow speeds, but you can write emails, Google things, and stay active on Slack on your laptop all day long. It’s perfect for folks who want to work remotely outside of the house but don’t have many video calls. Feel free to take your laptop to a pretty spot outside, connect to your Visible hotspot, and work as long as you want without stressing about hitting a data cap.

Verizon Unlimited Ultimate: Most high-speed data

Sitting at 60GB of high-speed hotspot data, Verizon currently holds the championship belt for the most high-speed hotspot data possible. If you want the closest thing to high-speed hotspot data, the Unlimited Ultimate plan from Verizon is as close as you will get. Every month you’ll get 60GB of high-speed hotspot data, which roughly equates to about 60 hours of streaming HD video, or 60 hours of Zoom meetings (yikes), or 60+ hours of online video games fueled exclusively by hotspot data. If you’re the type of person who frequently connects to your phone’s hotspot point and needs high-speed data, this Verizon plan gets our top recommendation.

If you somehow run out of high-speed mobile hotspot data before the month ends, you can add another 100GB (!) of data for an extra $10. Usually that extra hotspot data would cost $45, but you get a major discount with this data plan.

On top of the hotspot data, you also get a free subscription to Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ with this data plan. Feel free to use your hotspot data to stream some Simpsons on your laptop while you’re working at the park.

T-Mobile Go5G Plus: Best unlimited hotspot for travelers

T-Mobile’s Go5G costs more than any other cell phone plan , but it does give you 50GB of high-speed hotspot data and unlimited 4K UHD video streaming. While we’d love it if that translated to unlimited streaming with a hotspot connection, you’ll still be limited to 50GB of high-speed hotspot data every month. But even if you run out of hotspot data, you can always stream stuff directly on your phone (and it should look amazing). It’s also worth mentioning that you get a free Netflix subscription with this plan, which comes in handy now that Netflix ended the golden era of password sharing .

If you’re a frequent traveler who uses hotspot data, this plan was made for you. You automatically get unlimited data coverage in over 215 countries (including 5G speeds throughout North America), along with unlimited in-flight Wi-Fi on US-based flights.

AT&T Unlimited Premium: Best unlimited hotspot with security features

The AT&T Unlimited Premium data plan comes with 60GB of high-speed hotspot data every month and comes with AT&T’s mobile security program called ActiveArmor. Here’s everything that comes with the extra security features:

  • Public Wi-Fi protection
  • Identity monitoring
  • Reverse number lookup
  • Safe browsing
  • Blocking spam calls
  • Securing personal data
  • Theft alerts (Android only)
  • Email alerts for multiple failed PIN attempts

As a frequent hotspot user, the public Wi-Fi protection stands out here. If you like to work remotely outside of the house, you’ll either be connecting to your own Wi-Fi hotspot or a public Wi-Fi spot. Either way, you’ll want an extra layer of security from creeps who might try to steal your information. This is especially true if you work with confidential information, like tax documents or payroll databases. We’re not saying that every neighborhood park has some hacker in the shadows waiting to hack into your Wi-Fi hotspot, but the extra security never hurts.

Mint and Tello, like Visible, are MVNOs (carriers that piggyback off existing networks) offering plans with unlimited hotspot data for less than half the price of plans from Verizon, T-Mobile, or AT&T . Tello and Mint are even a tad bit cheaper than Visible, with unlimited plans priced at $30 a month or less.

Mint Mobile

All of Mint's plans come with unlimited hotspot data , but we recommend the Unlimited Data plan to get the most high-speed data. At $30 a month (after promo price), this plan comes with 40GB of high-speed data, siphoning 10GB of it for your hotspot. Once you've used that 10GB, your speeds slow to 128Kbps, but you can pay $15–$20 for 5GB–10GB more.

Mint users will experience slower speeds when the network is busy since Mint is only renting T-Mobile's towers, and T-Mobile customers are the network's priority. It's not as much high-speed hotspot data as bigger names or even Visible, but you save money while still enjoying unlimited hotspot data with a good chunk of premium speeds.

Tello's Unlimited Data plan is similar to Mint's. Your high-speed hotspot data (5GB) is pulled from your regular premium data allotment (35GB), users can purchase more high-speed data (at 1GB increments), and Tello is an MVNO operating on T-Mobile's network.

Tello offers 5GB less overall data and 5GB less hotspot data than Mint, but you save $10 a month. At a fourth of the cost of AT&T , we recommend Tello for those interested in a super affordable and customizable plan with enough high-speed hotspot data for occasional use.

Recap: What’s the best unlimited hotspot plan?

While unlimited high-speed hotspot data doesn’t exist (yet), these plans will get you as close as possible.

  • Best value hotspot plan : The Visible Wireless $35 Plan technically gives you unlimited hotspot data, but your speeds won’t pass 5Mbps. You’ll probably be able to work with no problem, but you can’t stream and game reliably with just this hotspot connection.
  • Best hotspot data speeds : The Verizon Unlimited Ultimate plan gives you 60GB of high-speed mobile hotspot data every month. If you run out of high-speed hotspot data, you can add another 100GB of data for just an extra $10.
  • Best unlimited hotspot for travelers : The T-Mobile Go5G Plus plan gives you 50GB of high-speed hotspot data and tons of travel perks, like international data and in-flight Wi-Fi. It’s perfect for frequent hotspot users who travel for business.
  • Best security features for unlimited hotspot: The AT&T Unlimited Premium plan gives you 60GB of high-speed hotspot data every month and comes with extra security features to ensure your hotspot connection can’t get hacked.
  • Best value hotspot runners-up: The Tello Unlimited Data Plan and the Mint Mobile Unlimited Plan offer unlimited data and hotspot plans at affordable prices. You save $10 more a month with Tello than Mint but get 5GB less regular and hotspot data. You can purchase more hotspot data with both providers.

Methodology

At Reviews.org, we follow a specific process to recommend the best unlimited hotspot plans. Below is a detailed breakdown of our process:

  • Thorough Research : We research all of the unlimited mobile hotspot offerings in the market. On top of the research, we use other sources, including industry reports, customer reviews, and reputable comparison websites like WhistleOut.com, to get the most up-to-date and accurate information about cell phone providers and their hotspot services.
  • Coverage Assessment : Hotspot data only works if you have cell coverage, so naturally coverage played a big role in recommending the best mobile hotspot carriers. Our analysis focuses on combing through coverage maps and our own proprietary data (collected from over 100,000 users) to gauge data speeds and overall performance of mobile hotspot services.
  • Value Analysis : We determine value by considering cost, hotspot data allotments, additional perks, coverage quality, and data speeds.
  • Perks and Features Evaluation : Beyond core services like talk, text, and data, we consider other features and capabilities of cell phone plans, mobile hotspot data in particular.
  • Recommendation Compilation : Based on our comprehensive analysis, we compile a curated list of the unlimited hotspot plans. Our recommendations provide detailed insights into each provider's hotspot coverage, pricing, features, and network coverage.

Best unlimited hotspot plans: FAQ

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions about unlimited mobile hotspot plans.

Sort of! If you have access to unlimited data on your cell phone plan, you technically have unlimited hotspot data as well. But here’s the rub: once you pass your monthly hotspot allotment, your carrier throttles your hotspot speeds to a point where the service is barely usable. There are a few exceptions, like Visible wireless, which gives its users unlimited hotspot data but allows speeds up to 5Mbps.

You’ll need to check the details of your cell phone plan to see how much hotspot data you get every month.

Verizon does offer unlimited hotspot data, but after you run out of your high-speed hotspot data monthly allotment, your speeds will slow down significantly.

All T-Mobile unlimited plans technically include unlimited hotspot data, but after you use your designated high-speed hotspot data, your data speeds slow down so significantly that you can barely use your hotspot data at all.

Technically, all AT&T unlimited plans have unlimited hotspot capabilities, but what really matters is how much high-speed hotspot data you get every month. Once you surpass that allotment, your Wi-Fi hotspot’s speeds will be extremely slow.

Cricket does offer unlimited hotspot data, but your hotspot speeds will slow down dramatically after you pass your monthly allotment.

Straight Talk technically offers unlimited hotspot data, but your hotspot speeds will slow down after you pass your monthly allotment.

Metro PCS (or Metro by T-Mobile) technically includes unlimited hotspot data, but your hotspot speeds will slow down after you pass your monthly allotment.

Business | Verizon invests $100 million in wireless connectivity from space

Ast announced a similar partnership with at&t inc. two weeks ago..

verizon wireless business plans unlimited data

AST SpaceMobile shares surged as much as 46% after Verizon Communications Inc. said it will invest $100 million in a partnership with the satellite communications company to provide wireless connectivity from space.

AST announced a similar partnership with AT&T Inc. two weeks ago. Now with both deals in hand, the Midland, Texas-based company said it will be able to provide 100% coverage of the continental US from smartphones to its future planned satellite system. Its system will use radio frequencies allotted to the two telecom giants by the Federal Communications Commission.

The partnership marks a rare move for Verizon and AT&T, as the two join forces with the same aerospace company in a bid to challenge Elon Musk’s SpaceX. Musk’s company announced a similar agreement with T-Mobile US Inc. in 2022.

Shares of AST rose as high as $7.80 on Wednesday in New York. Shares of Verizon and AT&T were little changed following the announcement.

“This partnership will enhance cellular connectivity in the United States, essentially eliminating dead zones and empowering remote areas of the country with space-based connectivity,” Abel Avellan, founder and chief executive officer of AST, said in a statement.

The deals by the two telecom companies represent a shared commitment to expanding space-based wireless service, said Chris Brown, head of network for AT&T. “Together with AST SpaceMobile we have agreed to welcome another mobile operator in the US to bring in more spectrum and more coverage to create an even better solution and enhance service capabilities,” he said. “With AST and the other partners around the globe we are shaping the future of connectivity for all.”

AST is one of a handful of companies trying to use low-orbiting satellites to provide connectivity to regular consumers via smartphones, a market often referred to as “direct-to-cell.”

SpaceX is pursuing the market with its massive Starlink system, which boasts roughly 6,000 satellites in orbit around the Earth. T-Mobile is providing its government-regulated radio frequencies to Starlink for their partnership, and the companies started testing of the service this year on some satellites.

Verizon will provide AST with $65 million in commercial prepayments, much of it subject to certain conditions. The additional $35 million will come in the form of convertible notes.

AST has a 693-square-foot satellite, BlueWalker 3, in orbit, after launching it on top of a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket in 2022. Eventually, the company plans to provide global cellular coverage with a system of 168 satellites in low-Earth orbit. The company plans to ship its first five commercial satellites to Florida this summer for launch.
