Strongly suspect they've deactivated my account. One of their partners decided to jerk me around after I miraculously managed to "qualify" for a $40 prototype test / interview. I say "qualify" because the few tests I've managed to get with them since joining have had it as painfully obvious that ANYONE could have simply done the tasks and completed them regardless of whether they arbitrarily fit some otherwise irrelevant criteria. I've pointed this out to them, complained about being cheated or shorted, and this case was the last straw. I did the screening, my some miracle passed it, and then when I went to book I was told it was full. This makes several times this has happened, and I try for these within moments of them being posted. Their last communication to me was basically just "get stuffed" and tough luck, they can't do anything based on "policy" and the standard smarmy BS about "good luck in the future". Well I was fed up and let them know how ridiculous that is, and I'm tired of it. Didn't swear, didn't otherwise act abusive. Just angry. Now I can't login and they don't reply to emails. I'm looking into other avenues for action against them if they did simply deactivate my account without so much as a warning or anything of the sort. If they continue failing to reply, that's going to ensure as much. Previously they were helpful in compensating for such unfair issues or technical problems. Here they just wave it off and then want to simply remove and ignore me? Doesn't strike me as a good company given that experience, and I doubt I'm alone. Shocked how high their rating here is.

I didnt get paid for reasons that are…

I didnt get paid for reasons that are not my fault like no audio in the last 3/4 of the recording for example, you are waisting time here, better go to the other 20 Testing Websites, they pay even when there are technical issues from there recording tools. 23€ are robbed from me.

If you want to make some extra money without any specific expertise, Userlytics can be a good option. I've done tests on other sites too, but even if you don't get a whole lot of tests here, you mostly qualify for many tests you receive. Their pay is among the highest and if you do the tests honestly, your test will never be disqualified/rejected.

Hi Hem, Thank you for your review! We really appreciate your feedback, we are happy to hear you enjoy using our platform. We look forward to your participation in future studies. Best, Userlytics team

Wonderful experience (and gained knowledge) with Nucleus App.

Everything about the experience was great...the interviewer was kind and everything was easy to understand. The whole interview flowed easily and it made time fly. The app presented to me seems to be of great help for any business and can make a very positive impact in all aspects of businesses. Nucleus is a complete platform and sure to be of great success (and help users succeed) in the near future.

Hi Lawrence, Thank you for your kind review! We really appreciate your positive feedback and are very happy to hear that you enjoy testing with us. You are a great tester and we look forward to your participation in future studies. Best, Userlytics team

Excellent platform to test website/app…

Excellent platform to test website/app prototypes. As a contributor, the process was seamless and I was able to answer the questions given to me while walking through the website, speaking thoughts aloud and elaborating on each point. I also liked how there was a prompt to keep track of time while completing the session. i.e. *3 minutes left, please finish your final thoughts.* Also the "Thank you for your feedback" It goes to show that Userlytics truly care about their contributors and ensure their experience is a smooth one! Keep up the good work!! :)

I am so much interested in working more in future. I have alot of devices, specifications, to use for the testing. Specially i am master in manual testing.

Customer service is excellent

Customer service is excellent. I reached out to Daniel and his responses were so prompt and friendly and provided me with everything I needed to successfully complete the study, even though I had some initial difficulties (on my end, not theirs). Test was easy to follow with good instructions.

If you get an invite, immediately sign up!

My experience with Userlytics has been great! The only caveat is that these tests fill up so quickly! Payment is great as I do not need to have a threshold or wait for long periods of time. I love giving feedback on websites and applications as that helps companies develop better products and customer engagement.

Improving usability with Userlytics

I could share real insights into improving the usability of a website and an application through Userlytics. This platform has an intuitive interface that is easy to navigate. Also, the mobile app works smoothly and shows both sent and pending payments for your completed tasks. Within the next few days, I will share more of my experiences.

I've been a tester with Userlytics - good experience

I've been testing with Userlytics for a couple of years now. They are generally responsive when there are issues. I have had some technical issues with the tests but the service Reps are able to let me know how to correct it in the future and offer payment if it was not an issue on my end. They have a decent dashboard that shows tests taken, missed, approved and rejected, as well as a payment dashboard. It could be improved by showing when payments will be paid out and add in tester ratings and feedback so we can continue to improve. I would recommend Userlytics.

A good, solid survey-taking platform.

Userlytics surveys/tests generally go smoothly and this latest one I did for them was no exception. It’s just a pity I only qualify for a very few when taking their screeners. I work with a couple of similar platforms and tend to get selected for opportunities more often with them.

Userlytics on top🙌🏽

I'm genuinely shocked, because when I did my first userlytics test, everything went smoothly; it's easy and enjoyable, and customer service is courteous and prompt. I received my payment in less than eight days and am pleased. I'm hoping to get some more tests in the next few days!

Well the portal connected me to a guy (most probably client ) and he asked my opinion about a prototype ....he was well behaved and professional ... He asked me about my opinion and also tried to engage in a constructive way... overall it was a nice experience except that I got an email at the ninth hour informing change of environment ,, it just confused me a bit........

Massive Waste of Time

I signed up based on a recommendation from a YouTuber I follow. Every test I got would ask me a qualifying question and then disqualify me. These are questions like income bracket, field of expertise, ect. These should already be part of my profile and I should not be getting emails every day asking me things they should already know. It's just annoying and a serious waste of time.

Hi Chaunda, we're so sorry you had this experience with us. Thank you for alerting us to the issue with our test invites. Can you send an email to [email protected] with the username and email address you use on Userlytics so that we can look into this? Thank you!

The experience was really interesting

The experience was really interesting. I liked sharing my thoughts and ideas about the my personal experience, about the topic and the prototypes. The workflow of the session was intuitive, there were no confusions and no difficulties at all. It was easy to follow the steps and share honest thoughts about the ideas. Moreover, the moderator was really friendly. Thank you!

Racist & Evil

They started the new quite evil and derogatory like. They’re doing that racist thing where they profile you before they select you, and they are only allowing tests to people in other countries. This would’ve been ok for one or two tests, but this has been constant for pretty every test (over 10). Avoid em! They’re racist & evil.

Date of experience : January 08, 2024

The test was easy to navigate through…

The test was easy to navigate through and very well explained by the company. I think knowing each click whether the user was correct in their choice would help give a little clarity and lessen the feelings of unsureness but other than that, I do think this would be a helpful app to use to work on focus and attention which it helped me to do the times I used the app.

UserTesting

The platform is easy to use, has fast candidate responses, and excellent customer service. I'd recommend this platform to anyone interested in user testing.

Their video editing function is great for showing highlight reels to clients and colleagues. Their customer service is fantastic.

While they help us with user testing, the best part of this company are their client-facing teams. When you do have any issue / question etc they reply fast and are super friendly.

They are true partners and go above and beyond to ensure your study is successful.

We're still pretty new on the platform, but I haven't had a lot to complain about. Sentiment analysis is not activated by default and I'm afraid it might be extra so I haven't pursued it.

When we used this platform for a client, the platform required testers to download a screen recorder. While this is common in the user testing industry, I still don't like it.

Not mentioning the overheads and paperwork we avoid as a result of not conducting them ourselves.

It's hard to scale top to bottom and the questions can get lost. Also putting a star or indicator for when a task/scenerio/metric has a URL link attached.

Userlytics Review (2024) – Is This Testing Gig Legit & Worth It?

review websites on userlytics

We've covered ways to get paid to test websites before on WebMonkey, and this is certainly one niche way to make money online .

Some of the most popular websites in this space include platforms like PlaytestCloud and TestingTime .

However, while you can make money with these sorts of sites, one of the main drawbacks of this side hustle is the fact that most platforms don't have regular testing opportunities.

Therefore, if you  really  want to make money as a user tester, you normally need to sign up for several websites to increase the odds you qualify for a test.

So, today, I'm covering another popular paid user testing gig: Userlytics .

But is Userlytics legit? And how much money can you realistically make with this testing side hustle?

I signed up for Userlytics to find out. And my Userlytics review is sharing how this app works and its earning potential so you can decide if it's right for you.

What Is Userlytics?

Userlytics is a remote user testing website that started in San Francisco back in 2009. Since then, the platform has expanded offices to Europe, more of North America, and Asia .

review websites on userlytics

In a nutshell, Userlytics helps companies test their websites and mobile applications with feedback from real user testers from around the world.

Userlytics is also a legit company with some impressive clients, including:

  • Dunkin Donuts
  • American Airlines

Clients have quite a bit of control over the demographics of testers they get feedback from and what sorts of tasks testers do. So, as a Userlytics tester, it's your job to help these companies improve their platforms and to provide honest, valuable feedback.

Overall, Userlytics is a very beginner-friendly way to make money online . And it says you can earn $10 to $20 or more just for testing out different websites.

Is Userlytics Legit?

Yes, Userlytics is legit, and the company pays its testers on time and works with reputable companies from around the world. There's also plenty of payment proof online and positive reviews stating that Userlytics pays .

When I tested out Userlytics, I didn't qualify for any testing sessions. This is the unfortunate nature of these types of money-making sites .

However, there is plenty of Userlytics payment proof online, like this one screenshot from another user tester on Reddit:

Is-Userlytics-Legit

In short, Userlytics is a reputable company that works with massive clients and pays their testers on time. However, negative Userlytics reviews usually stem from the fact that you can wait months without ever receiving a test invite.

This is the major drawback of all websites like Userlytics. I'd consider this a significant con, but Userlytics isn't a scam by any means…it just doesn't pay very much.

How Does Userlytics Work?

I signed up for Userlytics to find out how the platform works and to see if it's a decent online side hustle idea .

Overall, making money with Userlytics is quite similar to other paid user test websites. In fact, the entire process only takes five easy steps :

  • Meet Userlytics requirements
  •  Complete your profile

Let's cover each step in a bit more detail!

1. Meet Userlytics' Requirements

One area where user testing websites often differ is in their tester requirements. Thankfully, Userlytics is fairly lenient in terms of who can sign up for the platform.

According to Userlytics, many user testing projects come from North America and Europe, so it helps to live on either continent.

However, the platform is expanding to South Africa, Southeast Asia, Japan, China, and other countries around the world, which is quite promising for this side hustle idea .

Now, Userlytics requirements also include several technical specs for your devices.

For desktop testing you require :

  • Mac with OSX 10.13 or higher OR a PC with Windows 7 or higher
  • A normal browser extension like Chrome, FireFox, Safari
  • A microphone (built-in)
  • Some tests also require a webcam
  • The Userlytics Recorder software installed on your device

One plus of Userlytics is that they  want  you to use the internal microphone on your device since external ones can pick up too much background noise or have technical issues.

Userlytics also lets you complete certain tests on your smartphone.

For smartphone testing, you require :

  • An Android phone with 5.0 (Lollipop) or higher OR an iPhone with IOS 11 or higher
  • A microphone
  • The Userlytics app for Android or IOS
  • Some tests also require filming you with your front camera, so this needs to be functioning

Userlytics-tester-requirements

Unfortunately, I couldn't find any information on if you need a separate microphone for mobile testing or if your smartphone's built-in mic suffices.

In any case, if you meet the desktop or smartphone requirements, you can hopefully boost your income with this website and move onto step two!

2. Sign Up For Userlytics

To get started with Userlytics, you sign up with your email address. You must be 16 or older and consent to Userlytics' privacy policy to join.

Once you submit the form, Userlytics sends a confirmation email you complete that asks you for your :

  • Country of residence
  • Date of birth
  • PayPal email address
  • Password you want to use for your account

Userlytics-sign-up

Once you confirm all these details, you're officially a part of Userlytics.

I found that signing up took about one minute, and the process is similar to other user testing gigs.

3. Complete Your Profile Questionnaires

When you first sign up for Userlytics, you're only about 25% of the way done with answering demographic questions.

And, here's the thing: the best way to get more test opportunities is to completely fill out your profile .

Brands target specific focus groups with testing opportunities, so the more information companies know about you, the more potential tests you can get.

Userlytics-questionnaire

If you click on the “Qualify For More Tests” button, you can continue filling out information about yourself.

Examples of questions include :

  • Your type of smartphone and computer
  • Social networks you use
  • Education level
  • Approximate household income
  • Family status
  • Native language
  • The size of the company you work at

You can complete your entire profile pretty quickly, and it took me a few minutes to finish completing my profile.

4. Take Tests

If you qualify for a Userlytics test, you receive an email that notifies you and lets you claim the test opportunity.

Sometimes, you have to answer additional screener questions before being allowed to claim a test, but this isn't always the case. As for what you do during a testing session, it can vary depending on what the client wants.

However, every test has a set of tasks and instructions you follow. Usually, this involves interacting with a website's homepage, mobile app, or using specific features and voicing your feedback out loud.

Examples of previous Userlytics tasks include :

  • Registering a new account on a website
  • Searching for a specific product and moving to checkout
  • Comparing the client's homepage to a competitor and giving feedback
  • Reacting to advertisements and images
  • Answering a series of questions

Examples-of-tests

The feedback part is really what's critical : you need to verbalize your thoughts and provide feedback to help brands improve their platforms.

Mention things you enjoy, dislike, find confusing, or things you think could be improved. The more info you give, the better. Just be sure to follow the set of instructions/tasks carefully and in order.

Unfortunately, I haven't gotten any Userlytics test invitations since signing up and writing this review. But again, this is quite common for this sort of side hustle.

Note : Userlytics states “typical user tests will require 20 to 40 minutes to complete.”

5. Get Paid

According to the website, Userlytics testers earn $5, $10, $15, or up to $90 for completing tests. Money deposits in your account after you complete a test invitation and your results are verified by Userlytics' team and client .

This is quite a variable range, but since many testing sessions are around 20 minutes, I'd expect pay to be closer to the $10 range per test.

As you can see from the Reddit user below, they managed to earn $50 from completing 3 different tests:

Userlytics-Reddit-Review

However, as we see with another Userlytics tester, they said their test paid $20 but took approximately 40 minutes to complete:

Reddit-review-2

I'd take the time estimation bit with a grain of salt since it's impossible to know how fast or slow this particular person is at testing.

However, in any case, it seems like Userlytics averages around $10 to $20 per test, which works out to a very solid hourly wage if you think about it that way!

Anyways, Userlytics pays out with free PayPal cash , so this is technically another requirement to use the platform…no free gift cards or direct deposits!

It's also worth noting that the Userlytics client has to review and approve your feedback for approval in order for you to get paid.

Furthermore, payments for approved tests are made every 15 days, so there's a bit of a delay between completing a test successfully and getting your PayPal cash.

Extra Reading – How To Make $50 Per Day .

How Much Does Userlytics Pay?

Alright, it wouldn't be a fair Userlytics review without covering the main downside of this platform: the earning potential.

All user testing jobs suffer from a lack of reliability; you might make $50 to $100+ some months or have months where you don't even qualify for a single test .

This is the nature of this side hustle, and even if you complete your demographic profile, there aren't guarantees.

So, I'd say Userlytics is a fun source of beermoney …think of it as a nice surprise if money happens to come your way but don't bank on it.

Plus, as we can see from another Reddit user, months can pass without getting a test opportunity, so it's really a good idea to join multiple sites if you can.

Pros & Cons

  • Mostly global side hustle
  • Low barrier to entry
  • High hourly rate
  • Work with cool companies
  • Lets you complete user testing jobs on your computer and smartphone
  • Pays real cash through PayPal
  • No control over how many tests you get per month
  • If you don't have a microphone or webcam, there's an initial cost for becoming a Userlytics tester

The low earning potential is really the main drawback here in deciding if Userlytics is worth it or not.

In my opinion, it's worth signing up if you want some fun, free money once in a while, but don't expect too much!

Other Userlytics Reviews

I signed up for Userlytics to try out the platform. However, I didn't qualify for any testing sessions, even after weeks of being a member.

But one great way to tell if Userlytics is legit or not is to see what other user testers have to say about the platform.

Here are some other reviews of Userlytics on Reddit , where other testers discuss how much money they're making :

  • genuinegirl67 says : “They pay every 2 weeks- from the time you take the test (important) in other words, you might have 5 tests showed as owing over a 2-week time span, but not all of them will pay at the same time. I earn plenty of money on Userlytics, but it takes a while to get going, and you really have to knock the tests out of the park. I didn't get many tests at first either, but then it seemed like I got on their “good” side (they don't have a rating system) and I do between 5 and 10 tests a week for them now; additionally, I've done a few moderated's as well. Persevere, you'll get there.”
  • topdog900 says : “It's been 4 months since I signed up and I still haven't gotten a test.”
  • Vladovina says : “Two years and no tests.”
  • Galiphile says : “I've had like six tests in 18 months on Userlytics. Don't expect much.”

Userlytics Review Reddit

As you can see, some users make great side money with Userlytics. But for others, tests are rare, so the site doesn't pay much.

This Userlytics review from YouTuber Mara Latorre also covers how the site works and if it's worth using.

Mara explains how it's important to be comfortable with giving feedback and talking on camera/recording while testing if you want to get paid.

She also points out that this a full-time online job , but rather a way to make a quick $10 to $20 every once in a while.

Extra Reading – The Best Survey Sites That Pay Cash Instantly .

The Best Sites Like Userlytics

As mentioned, signing up for multiple user testing websites is the best way to try and maximize how many tests you qualify for.

So, if you're looking for some Userlytics alternatives, you can consider signing up for :

  • UserTesting
  • TestingTime
  • PlaytestCloud
  • Upwork (there are some user testing gigs)
  • What Users Do

I also made a YouTube video that covers even more ways you can get free PayPal money by testing apps and websites if you want more ways to start.

None of these platforms have an endless amount of gigs, but hopefully trying out a few helps you land more paid tests!

You can also try other ideas, like micro task websites that pay you for completing short online gigs. Similarly, apps that pay you to play games are a fun and easy way to earn some free gift cards and PayPal cash for trying new mobile games.

Extra Reading – Best Websites Like UserTesting .

Frequently Asked Questions

What payment method does userlytics use.

Userlytics' payment method is PayPal, and you normally get paid about two weeks after successfully completing a testing session.

Is Userlytics A Scam?

No, Userlytics isn't a scam, and the company has plenty of positive reviews and pictures of payment proof online. I was also able to sign-up for this testing gig and found that it's very easy to use .

However, Userlytics doesn't guarantee a certain number of tests. This means it's impossible to know how much money you can end up making, and luck and your location also play a role in your earnings.

Final Thoughts

I hope my Userlytics review helps you understand the pros and cons of this website and how everything works.

Honestly, user testing is a pretty fun side hustle with a very high hourly pay rate when you break it down like that.

However, I wouldn't rely on Userlytics or any alternate sites for anything more than just a bit of bonus cash once in a while.

In my opinion, things like gig economy apps are a way better side hustle route if you want control over the hours you work and to make more money.

You can try things like delivering for DoorDash or Uber Eats , creating your own local side business, or completing odd jobs with websites like TaskRabbit .

Alternatively, if you prefer working online, I'd suggest reading our post on sites like Appen for some easy online gigs you can complete in your spare time!

Whatever you decide, I hope your next side hustle endeavor helps you make a positive impact on your finances.

I'll catch you guys in the next one!

User friendly and efficient

I really enjoy Userlytics. Aside from the user-friendly and efficient platform, the customer service team is 10 stars out of 5. They are always willing to help me set anything up in such a timely manner - and so nice!!

The software's interface makes setting up the test, reading and reporting out a breeze. Simple functionality makes something like a robust test just a little bit easier.

The transcription that is based off of audio is left to be desired and often not able to be used. As a result, we do spend extra time translating ourselves for each panel result.

Reasons for switching to Userlytics

Pricing and not as strong of a platform as Userlytics for reading results.

A more reasonable alternative to the biggest players.

Our rep has been helpful and attentive, and the tool meets the UI and feature requirements of all its competitors for a really reasonable price tag.

There are a lot more UX testing tools and platforms out there these days than the days of Usertesting and UserZoom being the only players. But many of them offer only a couple types of tests, or force you into a type of workflow. We chose Userlytics because it most closely resembles the "big boys" in terms of feature set (in fact, I get more types of quant tests than I did with UserZoom) for a much smaller price tag. I also like that tasks can go un-recorded for participants' privacy. This was a near-essential feature for getting the tool approved.

We're still pretty new on the platform, but I haven't had a lot to complain about. Sentiment analysis is not activated by default and I'm afraid it might be extra so I haven't pursued it.

Reason for choosing Userlytics

It met our needs for the types of studies we wanted to run and the cost savings we needed.

Primarily we switched for price reasons. As a small team, the unlimited pricing of UZ did not benefit us that much compared to the more flexible credits of Userlytics.

Userlytics is a robust and inexpensive testing platform that meets our needs as a software company.

Creating a study with Userlytics is easy; the interface walks you through each step of the process. Some highlights include the templates that are available for common usability questions and the in-browser testing option for participants.

We use our own participants for testing and some have difficulty navigating the testing platform when reviewing prototypes.

It seemed to have the same core features at a fraction of the price.

Great International Usability Testing Tool

I have been doing online user testing for over eight years and have used many different UX tools in that time. Userlytics has been my user testing tool of choice for several years now. Their site is easy to use and inexpensive compared to other similar caliber user testing tools. It is effortless to set up a test, and they are very responsive to any requests or questions I have as I create my tests. It's also nice they have a card sort feature now. Few tools provide that. Userlytics has been able to help me test and find native speakers who also speak English in every country I have needed including South Africa, Japan, China, and Korea. They have made sure I have gotten quality testers which in turn has provided quality research. Their pricing, ease of use, customer service, and quality of testers/panels can't be beat.

Initially, I didn't like the pink and blue color scheme they used, but it has been updated. I wish there was an autosave on annotations/video clips. Sometimes I forget to click save.

Userlytics is great for cost effective user testing

User testing with userlytics.com has been easy and straightforward. I can train our freelance analysts on it quickly too.

Userlytics is easy to set-up and get started with. It's cheaper and has been just as effective for our test purposes as usertesting.com.

This tool will work best if you know how to write user testing tasks and questions before you start using it -- the software won't teach you the best practices, it just gives you a clean framework to implement them. I wish that, like usertesting.com, this tool provided some basic demographic information about the random users when random user testing (range of income bracket, age and gender) so we didn't have to add questions and take up time getting that information from the users.

Cost; usertesting.com raised their prices significantly.

Userlytics is a great tool for UX optimization

The Userlytics team has been more of a partner than a supplier. They proactively reach out to see how they can assist us in our projects; we know we can count on them for quick answers to our questions about best practices. Very responsive team!

Our ability to get user feedback overnight is invaluable to our Agile iterating work model - it allows us to keep the work moving and deliver value to our members as quickly as possible. The customer support we receive is also top-notch!

Some extra personalization options for the loading screens of the user testing experience would be nice but certainly not needed for getting the most from our user testing with Userlytics.

Great tool and great people!

Simple and user friendly platform. Learning curve is not steep and [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] and team are always accessible and ready to help! Really like the visual charts of responses, which I'm able to copy and paste in my presentation, great quality of video/audio recordings, and the overall layout of the platform. Biggest differentiator is the level of support from [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] and team. They're super knowledgeable, kind, patient, and always willing to help! They are true partners and go above and beyond to ensure your study is successful.

There are some limitations, but most are on their roadmap to be added or [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] is able to get it programmed in the backend. 1. For screener portion of the survey, unable to add open response questions. But [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN]was able to get this programmed in the backend. 2. For screener portion of the survey, unable create multi-select question. But [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] was able to get this programmed in the backend. 2. Unable to break participants into different age groups in one study. So I had to create 3 different surveys to be able to specify how many participants I want from each age group. However, [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] was able to merge all 3 surveys into one when they were complete. 3. No word cloud or aggregate word usage system from transcript 4. No option to create a metric questionnaire

Userlytics Review

The business works well once you are able to do a test, you do get paid, but the app itself is not that great when it comes to the full functions. Some of the functions that are important works well, but the other functions on the app I wish were fixed that I mentioned.

I used the app on the Iphone 8 plus, and also I like that there is even an app available on the phone. The app icon looks professional and the beginning login layout looks good. The functionality of the app works well on most parts.

When I attempt to login the app on my phone, it does not allow it to remember my username and password and then it will not login automatically. I have to re-enter it, but am able to get into the app afterwards. When I check the test invitations, completed tests, and missed invites, it does not appear, though I have done plenty of them in the past. The payment screen does work, but the contact screen does not show up when you click on it from the menu options.

The app works better than Userlytics, and it's functionality works better. I receive more tests from their websites and apps.

Powerful Tool & With Great Account Management and UX Consulting Support

Userlytics has allowed us to more efficiently and effectively incorporate research and testing into our processes. If you have everything you need to begin (goals / objectives, tasks, recruiting criteria, test script), you can initiate testing almost instantaneously. The tool is generally pretty easy to use. Being able to use the tool for recruiting purposes is a major win, whereas in the past I've had to rely on recruiting firms (or a more manual recruiting process) and separate testing and data collection tools. Nothing like having everything in one place. Scheduling and workload doesn't always afford us the opportunity to facilitate testing from end-to-end. So having a partner like Userlytics to assist with facilitating testing--when timing and other project priorities doesn't permit--is a major help.

Userlytics is a powerful research and testing tool. I love that you can do so many different types of research and testing including questionnaires, card sorting, tree testing, and formal usability testing. When setting up your test scripts, the guided text / examples are perfect if you don't want to create your questions from scratch (or if you simply need a little more guidance to get started). The updates made to the AI Transcription feature have made it a godsend when it comes to efficiently reviewing videos and analyzing test data. I'd like to add that the account executive and UX consultant team(s) are great to work with. They are timely with correspondence, provide excellent customer service, go the extra mile, and deliver solid work.

A little more flexibility with the card sorting feature. We were trying to set up a card sorting scenario for a recent test a certain way and weren't able to. We had to create a workaround. We still got the results we were looking for. But a little more flexibility would be a great help. Also having a feature that would allow you to show multiple visuals to the user and allow them to select which option is most effective would be another great addition.

Comprehensive and Easy to Use

We are about to test how usable our new and existing products are. A major benefit is the time we save by using unmoderated testing for quick checks and tests. Not having to worry about the scheduling logistics is a time-saver.

Building usability tests in Userlytics is simple and straightforward. The builder walks you through each step, so you don't have to worry about forgetting anything. The templated questions make it very easy to build your usability test. The results dashboard is also very comprehensive, with the ability to create highlight reels, tag, bookmark, download, share, rate, transcribe, etc. Everything we're looking for.

We have a target audience that is more challenging and expensive to reach using the existing Userlytics panel. Getting relevant results without using custom recruitment (additional expense) was not a viable option for our company. However, we would probably have to use custom recruiting regardless of the usability testing software we chose.

Positive, they have very attentive customer support.

Quality testing pools to be found in all 50 states and international. The transparency to have the user shared their video camera while they share their screen. Video scrubbing by task and annotation are very helpful.

It is a bit of a manual process to randomize larger, quantitative tests. Would love to see Userlytics automate this features in the future.

Unhappy with testing pool of past product.

Convenient and flexible product with the ability to do testing on a per-need basis

The fact that userlytics lets the user test as frequently (or infrequently) as they need is a huge benefit, and the main reason our team switched from usertesting to them. The other remote test websites wanted to lock us in to a contract where we would have to do tons of tests to get our moneys worth, but our needs differ from month to month and sometimes tests aren't needed. Userlytics lets us pay on a per-test basis which gives us the flexibility and independence our team needed!

In order to take video clips you do need to upgrade your account to a more expensive plan, but it's not the end of the world as you're still able to download the entire video.

See above - usertesting wanted to lock us into an expensive contract that would basically force us to buy hundreds more tests than we needed. Userlytics let us pay on a per-test basis which was so much more flexible and dynamic like we needed.

Good, but not great

Customer service was INCREDIBLE! [SENSITIVE CONTENT] was our account manager, and he would reply to any of the emails I sent him within 5 minutes. That in itself was incredibly valuable as a newbie to the program. The software itself could use a little more development in terms of features and functionality, but overall it's a good program that gets the job done.

I could easily organize and set up separate tests, and the tagging was very intuitive and helpful. Also customer service was so fast and helpful that I was quickly able to learn the program and use it effectively.

The dictation was pretty much useless it was so bad, and the analytics on the demographics of the users could definitely be organized better.

Userlytics - a good testing product that's getting even better

Working with [SENSITIVE CONTENT] was fantastic, exceeded my expectations for responsiveness, flexibility with my requests, and professionalism.

Setting up a test is easy and the 2 preview options are very useful and effective. For participants, joining a test session was easy. The recording quality was very good. Having the transcript option was also a plus. The dashboard and overall 'wizard' design were easy to understand.

We are a digital consultancy and we purchase testing credits for each client as needed, so it is difficult to coordinate "using credits" across multiple client projects. In general, the credit system is overly complicated and my #1 pain point.

Solid user testing platform

The ease of setting up a test and tasks is really straight forward. The customer service is great. They have made amazing enhancements to the platform over the last year that we are excited to try out on the next batch of testing we do.

When we used this platform for a client, the platform required testers to download a screen recorder. While this is common in the user testing industry, I still don't like it. But they recently rolled out a major enhancement to have an in-browser recorder! So no real complaints here!
