Reference management software, citation management software or personal bibliographic management software is software for scholars and authors to use for recording and utilising bibliographic citations (references). Once a citation has been recorded, it can be used time and again in generating bibliographies, such as lists of references in scholarly books, articles and essays. The development of reference management packages has been driven by the rapid expansion of scientific literature.

These software packages normally consist of a database in which full bibliographic references can be entered, plus a system for generating selective lists of articles in the different formats required by publishers and scholarly journals. Modern reference management packages can usually be integrated with word processors so that a reference listin the appropriate format is produced automatically as an article is written, reducing the risk that a cited source is not included in the reference list. They will also have a facility for importing the details of publications from bibliographic databases.

Cite with EndNote

EndNote is a tool that facilitates you in making citation references while preparing your research papers, writing theses etc. It also gives you facility to choose any out of many international professionally recognized citation styles like APA etc.

Optionally you can also enter your bibliographic data in EndNote's database manually no matter it is a citation from a book, newspaper, or a journal EndNote gives you flexibility to do all that with an ease.

  • To get a copy of EndNote please visit Multimedia and Microfilming Section, Punjab University Library, Lahore.[ Only for faculty, researchers and students currently workinig or enrolled under any Dept. of University of the Punjab]

Searching Technique

Many teachers and trainers are beginning to use the web on a regular basis and are looking for guidance and organizational strategies for what appears to be a chaotic and certainly a ubiquitous environment. They find that simply accessing personal web pages does not provide a useful scheme for finding information to perform higher level operations such as research. They are also finding out that traditional methods of searching for information do not apply in the distributed resource environment of the world wide web. Educators and Trainers need unique searching strategies for efficiently and effectively finding information in this dynamic environment.

Journal Citation Reports

Journal Citation Reports (JCR) is a unique multidisciplinary journal evaluation tool. Journal Citation Reports on the Web is the only journal evaluation resource that provides statistical information based on citation data. By compiling cited references, JCR helps to measure research influence and impact at the journal level, and shows the relationships between citing and cited journals. It presents quantifiable statistical data that provides a systematic, objective way to determine the relative importance of journals within their subject categories.

Completed Date: 2022
Abstract: The aim of the present research was To Study Internet Addiction Among Adolescents Using Smartphones in terms of various psycho-social correlates like Big Five, Dark Triad, boredom proneness, loneliness, family satisfaction and peer pressure; and various cognitive and physiological dysfunctions related to internet addiction. A total of 400 adolescents- 200 internet addicted (100 boys; 100 girls) and 200 non-internet addicted (100 boys; 100 girls), in the age range of 15 to 18 years, were purposefully selected from various private schools of Delhi and NCR. The present study found a strongly positive relationship between Internet addiction and Smartphone addiction for both the internet addicted and non-internet addicted groups. Internet addiction came out to be positively correlated to neuroticism, machiavellianism, subclinical narcissism, subclinical psychopathy, boredom proneness, loneliness (both social and emotional) and peer pressure and negatively related to extraversion, conscientiousness and family satisfaction. Internet addicted girls, akin to their male age mates, were found to be socially withdrawn, self-obsessed, impulsive, disorganized, conventional, lonely (both emotionally and socially), dissatisfied from their families and giving in to pressure from peers. Very prominent and all pervasive association was evinced of internet addiction with the cognitive and physiological dysfunctions amongst these boys and girls. The present results exhibited a more or less similar profile for internet addicted boys and internet addicted girls. ANOVA further revealed that the main effect of internet addiction status of these adolescents seemed to contribute more to the differences on various psycho-social correlates and cognitive and physiological dysfunctions associated with internet addiction. Further, in case of internet addicted and non-internet addicted group, peer pressure emerged to be one of the strongest predictor of internet addiction.
