Starting a T-shirt business can be an exciting endeavor. Having a clear roadmap of the steps to start a business will help you stay focused on your goals and get started faster.

1. Develop A T-Shirt Business Plan - The first step in starting a business is to create a detailed T-shirt business plan that outlines all aspects of the venture. 2. Choose Your Legal Structure - It's important to select an appropriate legal entity for your T-shirt business. This could be a limited liability company (LLC), corporation, partnership, or sole proprietorship. Each type has its own benefits and drawbacks so it’s important to do research and choose wisely so that your T-shirt business is in compliance with local laws.

How To Write the Perfect T-Shirt Business Plan 2024

Are you looking for the easiest steps to writing a T-shirt business plan in 2024? You’ve come to the right place to learn them. If you want to enhance your creativity skills and make money, starting a T-shirt business would be a great fit for you. However, before launching or giving your T-shirt store a physical appearance, you require a strong business plan.

It will help you guide your actions toward success and give a clear vision of where you’re going and how to achieve the business goals. A business plan is fundamental to keep you focused and force you to think about potential risks. Let’s start writing a perfect business plan for your profitable T-shirt venture.

Executive Summary

This section briefly introduces your T-shirt business concept, such as what kind of T-shirt Company you will run. It should contain an engaging description of your idea and clarification about the demand for your chosen niche. It has to summarize a few topics, like your target market, unique selling proposition, and financial projections, which will be discussed in detail. It should also explain how your business can serve the consumer demand.

Company Description

In this section of the plan, the writer describes your T-shirt business idea, including the type of T-shirts you’ll sell (e.g., graphic tees, eco-friendly, customized, or embroidered t-shirts with fun slogans and aesthetic designs).

What type of business structure do you choose for your new t-shirt business: sole proprietorship, incorporation, or registered partnership? After deciding it, you must file the legal paperwork.

In addition to explaining your specific audience, a t-shirt business is necessary.

For example, you might operate for one of the following audiences.

  • Women’s T-Shirt Business : This type of T-shirt company offers a variety of exclusive T-shirt styles, such as V-neck, thin strap, pocket tee, etc.
  • Men’s T-Shirt Business : This type focuses on male T-shirts
  • Unisex T-Shirt Business : Produces neutral T-shirts
  • Children’s T-Shirt Business : This business targets children, providing them  with T-shirts with cool and catchy cartoon-printed  designs and sizing

The Company Analysis section of your business plan also needs to provide background on the business.

Market Overview

Now, conduct thorough research on the T-shirt market trends in 2024, including customer preferences, popular designs, and emerging niches. This will help you understand the market in which you are operating, improve your strategy, and prove to readers that you are an expert in your industry.

If you need more confidence about writing independently, get assistance from our Business Plan Writing Services . We offer almost every writing service, including E2 visa business plan , Strategic Business Plan Writing , Investor Business Plan s, and HVAC business plan.

Begin by presenting the t-shirt market landscape with a brief overview of the t-shirt business industry. Then, provide some information about your target audience. For example, your business focus is on kid’s fashion wear.

Ultimately, mention your main competitors and summarize some details you can access, like company size, average monthly sales, and their fulfillment method.

Marketing and Sales Strategy

When all production procedures are complete, it is time to sell the tees. In this section of the plan, you outline the channels you choose for T-shirt business promotions, such as digital marketing (social media, email campaigns, reaching out to micro-influencers and asking for their contribution), traditional advertising (print, events), and other promotional tactics.

Explain your sales strategy, such as utilizing online sales through your website and third-party e-commerce platforms, particularly online marketplaces, which are easy to sell through.

Mention Product Line

Here, you must describe the types of designs, materials, and sizes your T-shirt Business Company will offer. Also, add information about demographics, such as which gender your t-shirts are available in.

  • Men’s T-shirts
  • Women’s T-shirts
  • Children’s T-shirts
  • Toddler’s T-shirts
  • Pet T-shirts for dogs and cats

Moreover, try to include these key points briefly, such as what unique features or customization options set your T-shirts apart from competitors.

Management and Organization

The next step is to write the section demonstrating critical members of your team and their roles. For example, who will be the owner and manager of an established t-shirt organization, who will be creating the T-shirt designs for the company, and who will be highlighting the team’s relevant experience and skills, such as one of your team members who graduated from a renowned University with a Master’s degree in Graphic Design?

Financial Plan

The financial plan section is an integral part of a comprehensive business plan. As a writer, you must carefully provide a detailed economic forecast, including sales projections, expenses, profit margins, and a cash flow statement.

It emphasizes factors such as seeking outside financing from investors or banks. Perhaps you’re funding your money to launch a t-shirt business. Whatever the case, your financial plan includes a five-year financial statement along with income, marketing expenses, and cash flow statements.

You narrow down your 5-year financial statement, broken out monthly and quarterly for the first year and then annually.

Research as much as possible and try to root your assumptions in reality. Your choice of assumptions in the financial forecast will significantly reflect how much revenue you can generate for your business.

You should outline your funding requirements, if any, and how you’ll use the funds (e.g., inventory purchase, marketing expenses).

What is a T Shirt Business Plan?

A business plan for a t shirt business is a written document that sets your company’s financial goals and discusses how you’ll reach them.

A solid, comprehensive strategy will serve as a road map for the next three to five years of the t shirt business. Any bank or investor you approach will require a t shirt business plan, so putting one together will be critical to securing funding.

In short, writing a business plan can help you succeed if you’re thinking of starting a t shirt business or pitching to investors or venture capitalists.

T Shirt Business Plan

Why You Need a T Shirt Business Plan

If you want to start a t shirt business or expand an existing one, the first thing you need to do is to write a business plan. A business plan is also necessary for attracting investors who want to know if your t shirt business is on the right track and worth investing in.

A solid, detailed plan gives you a clear path to follow, forces you to examine the viability of a t shirt business idea, and may help you better understand your company’s finances and competition.

T shirt business owners who have a business plan grow 30% faster than those who don’t, and 71% of fast-growing businesses have one.

A t-shirt business plan is a living document that should be updated annually as your company grows and changes.

Funding Sources for T Shirt Business

Asking family and friends to invest in your t shirt business is a great way to start. Once you’ve set a budget and identified what you’ll need to start the t shirt company, take the services of your friends and family to help you get it off the ground. You might need to present the willing ones a solid business plan to reassure them that their chances of making a profit are good.

Bank loans and angel investors are the two most common sources of funding for a t shirt business. When it comes to bank loans, banks will want to look over your t shirt business plan to make sure you’ll be able to pay it back with interest.

The loan officer will not simply want to ensure that your financials are reasonable in order to gain this confidence. They will, however, expect to see a professional plan. They will be more confident in your ability to run a business successfully and professionally if you have a plan like this.

Angel investors are the second most popular source of finance for a t shirt business. Wealthy individuals who will write a check for you are known as angel investors. They will either want equity in exchange for their capital or will let you have a loan, similar to a bank.

Furthermore, market research can improve your strategy, especially if it identifies market trends. For example, if there is a trend towards particular designs or themes for t-shirts, it is helpful if your plan enables you to quickly add or modify inventory.

The third purpose for conducting market research is to demonstrate to readers that you are an industry expert.

Industry analysis can be presented as a 8-step process when written as part of a company’s business plan.

  • Give a quick overview of the t shirt industry. Define the t shirt business in terms of size (in dollars), historical background, service region, and products.
  • Examine previous trends and growth patterns in the t shirt industry.
  • Identify the market’s major competitors.
  • Age, gender, and general lifestyle of the targeted market
  • Who are the market’s main suppliers?
  • Determine the factors that have an impact on the t shirt industry. These might include government regulatory rules and other businesses’ competitive activities.
  • Using research data, the industry forecast expected growth over the next five to ten years. Predictions should be made for both the long and short term.
  • Describe how your t shirt business intends to position itself in the industry. Concentrate on how your t shirt business can benefit from opportunities highlighted in the industry.

Customer Analysis

The first condition for a t shirt business is to identify its target customers clearly. Customers can be categorized into the following segments: college students, sports fans, soccer moms, techies, teens, baby boomers, etc.

The customer analysis section is an important part of any t shirt business plan since it evaluates the consumer segments that your company serves. It identifies target customers, determines what those customers want, and then explains how the product will meet those requirements.

Customer analysis may be divided into two parts: psychosocial profiles (why your t shirts suits a customer’s lifestyle) and demographic profiles (descriptions of a customer’s demographic qualities).

In terms of demographics, you should include information on the ages, genders, locations, and income levels of the consumers you want to serve. Because most t shirt businesses serve consumers who live in the same city or town, such demographic data is easily accessible on government websites.

The psychological profiles of your target clients reveal their wants and needs. The better you understand and identify these demands, the better your chances of attracting and retaining customers will be.

Competitor Analysis

It is necessary to do a competitor analysis. Not least because you may use their data to define your goals, marketing plans, tactics, new product lines, pricing, and more. Use competitor analysis to:

  • Identify the strength of your t shirt business competition.
  • Search for opportunities to distinguish your t-shirt business from competitors.
  • Set your service’s price.

On the market, you will almost certainly discover some extremely powerful competitors, some of whom will be offering t shirts similar to yours at unbelievably low costs. However, not every competitor works with low-cost, low-quality products.

The first step is to determine who your direct and indirect competitors are.

The direct competition consists of other t shirt businesses that offer essentially the same services or products to the same people as you do.

Your indirect competitors are other options customers have to purchase from you that aren’t direct competitors. Other types of shirts and apparel items are included in this category.

Once you’ve identified the competition, concentrate on the direct, head-to-head competitors, since they are the most threatening to your t shirt business— but keep an eye on the indirect competition as well, just in case.

Provide an overview of each direct competitor’s business and detail their strengths and weaknesses.

You will be able to position yourself competitively in the market if you perform proper competition research. Perform a SWOT Analysis to learn your competitors’ strengths, weaknesses, and competitive advantages in the following areas:

  • Prices – Are they offer cheaper products or more costly than you and other competitors, what value do buyers get for that price?
  • Quality – Are they offer premium t shirts, the perceived worth in the eyes of the customers
  • Customer service – How they respond to their consumers, whether they treat them poorly or well, and the degrees of satisfaction customers show
  • Reputation — The sum of everything mentioned above: their credibility, how loved the brand is, and the loyalty of their customers

The final section of your competitive analysis should include a list of your areas of competitive advantage. for example: Are you going to offer premium t shirts? Will you offer unique t shirts that your competitors don’t offer? Will you offer better pricing or will you offer greater customer support?

Consider how you will outperform your competitors and include them in this portion of your t shirt business plan.

Marketing Plan

Creating a marketing plan for a t shirt business involves identifying the target demographic and finding t shirts that suit their preferences.

As part of your marketing plan for a t shirt, you should include:

Pricing and Product Strategy

Your t shirt business must offer t shirts that are different from those of your competitors. Research what your competitors offer and how they price their t shirts. Unique t shirts identifies your t shirt business as the place to go for unique designs and differentiates it from others.

Placing and Promotions

The place is where you have your t-shirt business. List the locations where customers can purchase your products. Do you have a storefront? An online store? Do you operate kiosks or locations at events? Do you sell through other retailers or websites? Describe your distribution strategy here.

Promoting your t shirt business is the final part of your marketing plan. In this step, you document how you will drive customers to purchase your t shirts. A few marketing methods you could consider are:

  • Adding extra appeal to the front store of your t shirt store to attract passing customers
  • Marketing in local newspapers and magazines
  • Approaching bloggers and websites
  • Banner ads at local venues
  • Marketing on social media
  • Pay Per Click marketing

You should also think about your t shirt’s Unique Selling Proposition (USP), which should explain why clients should choose you over other t shirt businesses. Ensure that your USP is reflected in your marketing.

Recommended Resources: If you are a DIY business plan writer, you need this guide on how to write a sales and marketing section in a business plan.

Operations Plan

While the previous sections of your t shirt business plan described your goals, your operational plan discusses how you will achieve them.

An operations plan is helpful for investors, but it’s also helpful for you and employees because it pushes you to think about tactics and deadlines.

Your operational plan should be able to answer the following questions:

  • Who – Personnel in charge of completing specific tasks.
  • What – A breakdown of the responsibilities of each personnel.
  • Where – The location of everyday operations.
  • When –The deadlines for completing tasks and goals.
  • How much – The amount of money required for each department to perform their job.

Your operations plan should be divided into two individual parts, as seen below.

Your daily short-term processes include all the tasks involved in running your t-shirt business, such as serving customers, purchasing supplies, and manufacturing shirts etc.

Long-term goals are milestones you hope to reach. It may be the date when you expect to serve your 5,000th customer or when you hope to reach $X in sales. Another example would be when you expect to hire your Xth employee or open a new location.

Management Team

When writing a t shirt business plan, the management section’ outlines your management team, staff, resources, and how your business ownership is structured.

This part may be easily organized by dividing it into the following points:

Ownership Structure

Internal Management Team

External Management Resources

Human Resources

Management team section in a business plan outlines your t shirt business’s legal structure. If your company is a sole proprietorship , it may simply be one phrase. It might be longer if your company is a partnership or a corporation . You should make it a point to clarify who owns what part of the business.

This section should not only outline who is on your management team but also how each person’s skill set and experiences will contribute to the growth of your t shirt business. Ideally, you and/or your team members have direct expertise in the t shirt business. If this is the case, highlight your experience and skills.

Think of these external management resources as your internal management team’s backup. Consider forming an advisory board if your team is lacking expertise and experience with t shirt business.

An advisory board would consist of 3 to 7 people who would serve as mentors to your company. They would assist in answering queries and providing strategic direction.

If necessary, search for advisory board members with expertise running t shirt business.

Describe all of your company’s external professional advisers, such as accountants, bankers, attorneys, IT experts, business consultants, and/or business coaches.

The final topic to consider in the management area of your t shirt business plan is your human resource needs.

Financial Plan

As part of your financial plan, you should present a 5-year financial statement broken down monthly or quarterly for the first year, and then annually. Financial statements include your income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement.

Income Statement

A profit and loss statement is more commonly called an income statement. It shows your revenue and subtracts your expenses to determine whether you were profitable or not.

As you develop your income statement, you need to develop assumptions. Will you serve 50 customers per day or 300? Will sales grow by 3% or 15% per year? Your choice of assumptions will greatly impact your business’s financial forecasts. Conduct as much research as possible in order to ground your assumptions in reality.

Free: Income Statement Template

Create a financial statement for your business by downloading our free income statement templates.

Balance Sheet

While balance sheets include much information, to simplify them to the key items you need to know about, balance sheets show your assets and liabilities.

The balance sheet shows your t shirt business’s net value at a specific point in time. It categorizes all of your company’s financial data into three categories:

  • Assets: Tangible goods with the monetary worth that the company owns.
  • Liabilities: Debt owing to a company’s creditor.
  • Equity: The net difference when the total liabilities are subtracted from the total assets.

The equation that expresses the relationship between these financial data elements is Assets = Liabilities + Equity.

Create a pro forma balance sheet for your t shirt business plan that highlights the information in the income statement and cash flow projections. A balance sheet is normally prepared once a year by a company.

Balance sheets indicate your assets and liabilities, and while they contain a lot of information, they are simplified to highlight the most important things you need to know.

For example, spending $200,000 to build out your t shirt business will not result in instant revenues. Rather, it is an asset that should help you earn money for many years to come.

Similarly, if a bank sends you a check for $700,000, you do not have to pay it back right now. Rather, that is a liability that you will repay over time.

Cash Flow Statement:

Your cash flow statement will help you determine how much money you need to start or grow your t shirt business. In developing your Income Statement and Balance Sheets be sure to include several of the key costs needed in starting or growing a t shirt business:

  • Fees for registering a business
  • Taxes and licenses
  • Advertising and publicity budget
  • Business insurance
  • Cost of leasing a production facility
  • The cost of purchasing the initial supply of fabrics, racks, hangers, and packaging materials
  • Operational costs for the first three months (salaries, bills, and other expenses)
  • Start-up inventory costs
  • The cost for the purchase of furniture and gadgets (Printers, telephones, vacuum cleaners, tables and chairs, etc.)

Free: Balance Sheet Template

Create a financial statement for your business by downloading our free balance sheet templates.

List any additional material you cannot include elsewhere, such as resumes from key employees, licenses, equipment leases, permits, patents, receipts, bank statements, contracts, and personal and business credit histories.

Attach your full financial projections along with any supporting documents that make your plan more compelling in the appendix. You may, for instance, include some of your t shirt designs.

Bonus Tip: Learn what to include in a business plan appendix while writing a T Shirt business plan.

TShirt Design Business

Are you about starting a T-shirt Business online ? If YES, here is a complete sample T-shirt printing business plan template & feasibility report you can use for FREE .

Starting a T – shirt design and sales business is of course one of the many businesses that can be started in any part of the world and the owner of the business can still penetrate the world market once the design is good and it meets a need in the fashion market; everybody whether old or young have need for clothes most especially T – shirts for casual wears.

Entrepreneurs who intend starting a clothing line business can start their own T – shirt design and sale business from their home on a small scale and service a customized market or big time investors can open a clothing factory and dominant both the U.S. market and the international market.

The bottom line is always that there is always a ready market for manufacturers of clothes. All a designer need to do is to ensure that he or she carves a niche for his business and they work hard to build their brand name to be accepted beyond his / her city of operations.

T – Shirt design and sales business just like most businesses, thrives on creativity, branding (media hype and what have you) and good business skills. Any aspiring entrepreneur can start a T – shirt design and sales business, as long as they are creative, they can get people to promote their brand and they have good business skills.

The starting size of this type of business doesn’t really matter as long as the business is built on the right foundation and with the right combination of skills and talents; after all, a world renowned clothing line – Coco Chanel started from a little hat shop in a street in Paris and today they are all over the world.

One thing is certain, once you are creative, you will be able to come out with a unique style. In the clothing line industry, you signature is your style. Another important factor that counts in this line of business is the brand name and perhaps the logo of the clothing line.

If you look at the leaders in the clothing line business you will realize that they deliberately choose a name and create a logo that best communicate how they want people to perceive them. Once you are able to secure a good name for your T – shirt design and sales business and then hire experts (graphic artists) to help you create a compelling logo; if you don’t mind, you can follow the trend in the industry.

A Sample T-Shirt Design & Sales Business Plan Template

1. industry overview.

The fashion industry is indeed a highly thriving industry all over the globe for obvious reasons and T – shirt design and sales is a subset of the industry. There are various clothing label; some are national brand and some others are international brands.

The fashion industry, especially cloth / T – shirt making business was not as easy as it is now; before now, clothing was handmade based on demand by individual. In the 20 th century after the invention of sewing machines (industrial sewing machines) it became pretty much easier to produce T – shirts en mass.

Technology indeed is responsible for opening up the clothing industry. T – Shirts can now go through factory system of production and still maintain good quality and standard sizes. With that, it is easier for retailers to order and sell T – shirts at fix prices in department stores and boutique et al without stress.

The fashion industry is a creation of the modern age and fashion style changes with rapid astonishment and in most cases people go back to the past to re – introduce old fashion. The fashion industry is indeed a rapidly changing industry; fashion trend will always come and go at different season.

The bottom line is that successful clothing labels (T – shirt designers) have a thorough grasp of the market and they know how to meet their needs or cajole them to accept what they have to offer; they are always creative, flexible and ready to either detect the trend or move with the trend.

No doubt, a retailer or wholesale distributor of T – shirts can order for various sizes of clothes from anywhere in the world and sell in his or her country without even visiting the production factory. As a matter of fact, any clothing line based business is one business that has the capacity to survive regardless of what is happening in the economy of the world.

Economic downturn or even a galloping inflation does not in any way affect the sale of clothes; people can’t do without wearing clothes. For instance, you can’t find even the homeless people in America not wearing clothes.

From time immemorial, the fashion industry is known to be one of the largest employers of labor (both directly and indirectly) in the united states of America.

Some of the leading labels in the fashion industry are from the United States of America. Although, some clothing labels outsource the production of their clothes to other parts of the world; predominantly Asian countries, just in a bid to cut cost.

Some cities of the world are considered to be fashion hubs; they dictate what happens in the fashion industry. The cities are Paris, Milan, New York City, Tokyo and London. These cities are known to host fashion exhibitions; designers who want to play at the global stage ensures that they exhibit their clothing collections to fashion enthusiast during fashion week in any of the cities mentioned above.

As a T – shirt designer, once your brand / label is accepted in any of the fashion capitals of the world, it won’t be too long before you become a globally recognized clothing label – brand.

6. SWOT Analysis

Richards Peal™ intends to build a world class T – shirts design and sales business that will manufacture T – shirts and casual clothes for men, women, young adult and children. We will be based in Beverly, California, but we will not restrict the sale of our T – shirts and casual clothes to the U.S market alone, we will sell our product in other parts of the world.

In other to achieve this in a highly competitive industry like the fashion industry, we must ensure that we critically look through our strength, our weaknesses, the opportunities available in the industry and the threats that we will are likely going to face.

Because of the nature of the business we are involved in and the brand we want to build, we were able to hire the services of an HR and Business consultant with bias in fashion and retailing to help us conduct a thorough SWOT analysis and to help us create a Business model that will help us achieve our business goals and objectives.

This is the summary of the SWOT analysis that was conducted for Richards Peal™ T – shirt Design and Sales Company;

Perhaps one of our strongest strength could be attributed to the quality of employees and the latest machines and equipment that we have in our T – shirt production factory. Our chief executive officer, Mr. Richards Crespo – Pablo will be bringing his vast wealth of experience to the table and that is indeed a huge positive for Richards Peal™ T – Shirts Design and Sales Company

A major weakness that may count against us is the fact that we are a new T – shirt design and sales company and we don’t have the financial capacity to compete with multi – billion dollars fashion label like Ralph Lauren, Polo by Ralph, Tommy Hilfiger, Hugo Boss, Gap, Lacoste, Nike, Levi Straus, Adidas, Diesel, Nautical, Puma, Prada and Rebel (Children’s T – shirts) et al when it comes to controlling the market or detecting the trend.

  • Opportunities:

One thing is certain, whether good or bad- people will always look for clothes to wear and on the average they go for T – shirts simply because it is cheap. Besides, the opportunity for clothing line to sell their clothes is massive and we hope to leverage on these opportunities to sell our T – shirts.

Just like any other business, one of the major threats that we are likely going to face is economic downturn. It is a fact that economic downturn affects purchasing power. Another threat that may likely confront us is the arrival of a new T – shirts design and sales company in same location where our target market exist who may want to adopt same business model like us.

7. MARKET ANALYSIS

  • Market Trends

In recent time, the fashion industry relies more on mass market sales for them to make the kind of income that will sustain the business.

The mass market takes care of a wide range of customers that cuts across both the rich and the poor. Most of the new clothing lines that are trying to catch – up with the market often produce ready-to-wear clothes using trends set by leading fashion labels.

What they do is that, they try to see the direction of the trend as established by renowned fashion brand before producing their own versions of the original look by making use of cheaper fabrics and simpler production processes which can easily be done by machines.

They can comfortably sell such product at a cheaper price to the masses who can’t afford to by the original which is often way too expensive for the common man.

T – Shirt designers and fashion designers now leverage on the runway – fashion expo to promote and attract market for their products. Any fashion designer who is recognized in Paris, Milan, New York City, or London can comfortably become a global recognized fashion label.

Small start – up T – shirt designs and sales companies leverage on small markets such as companies, churches, schools, organized groups and sport fans to sell their T – shirts. This group of people can order large numbers of customized T – shirts for special purposes.

For example, a political party enters into a business deal with a T – shirt design and sales company to help them produce shirts to be used by their supporters during political rallies and campaigns.

8. Our Target Market

No doubt the clothing line industry has the widest range of customers; everybody on planet earth wears clothes howbeit different designs, quality and style. In view of that, we have created strategies that will enable us reach out to people that cut across different classes in the society; we will produce T – shirts and casual clothes for male, female, young adults and children.

We have conducted our market research and survey and we will ensure that our T – shirt label is well accepted in the market place. These are the different group of people that we will be producing T – shirts and casual clothes for;

  • Young Adult
  • Corporate Executives
  • Sports Men and Women (sport clubs)
  • Churches (Customized church robes)
  • Political Parties

Our competitive advantage

Our competitive advantage as a T – shirt design and sales company is the fact that we are going to produce T – shirts and casual clothes for a wide range of people; we will produce for both the rich and the poor.

Another competitive advantage for Richards Peal™ T – shirts Design and Sales Company is the quality and robust wealth of experience of our management team. The management team comprises of professionals who have worked with some of the leading international brand in the fashion industry.

Our latest machines and equipment also count towards our advantage especially when it comes to competing with other T – shirt designs and sales companies within the same category that we operate. The quality of every T – shirts and casual clothes that comes out of our production line must be certified okay before they are released to the market.

9. SALES AND MARKETING STRATEGY

  • Sources of Income

Richards Pearl™ T – shirt Design and Sales Company will be involved in the production of high quality T – shirts and casual clothes that will meet the needs of male, female, young adult and children and that will be our major sources of income.

In future, we hope to open a standard fashion design school in Beverly, California. A school that will meet and surpass the needs of aspiring fashion designers in and around California. We will also go into fashion consulting business as a means of generating additional income for the business.

10. Sales Forecast

It is important to state that our sales forecast is based on the data gathered during our feasibility studies, market survey and also some of the assumptions readily available on the field.

It is important to state that people buy T – shirts and casual clothes for different purposes and clothes sell all through the calendar year albeit different designs for different seasons / weather. If it is winter, the demand for winter clothes will increase and if it is summer, the demand for summer clothes will increase.

Below are the sales projections that we were able to come up with for the first three years of operations;

  • First Year-: $ 500,000
  • Second Year-: $1,000,000
  • Third Year-: $2,000,000

N.B : This projection is done based on what is obtainable in the clothing line (fashion) industry and with the assumption that there won’t be any major economic downturn and there won’t be any T – shirts design and sales company that will adopt our unique business model . Please note that the above projection might be lower and at the same time it might be higher.

  • Marketing Strategy and Sales Strategy

Owing to the fact that we are a new T – shirts design and sales company that want to take on the international market, we have decided to model some of the leading international clothing manufacturing brand. We will ensure that we interact with our target market (customers) and sample their opinions to know what they want before mass – producing T – shirts and casual clothes.

It is easier to penetrate the market when what you produce is exactly what the people wanted. The fashion industry is indeed a very competitive industry, every T – shirt designer and clothing line must ensure that they are always on their toe and in touch with the trend if indeed they want to continue to be in business.

We are aware of this fact which is why we hired business consultant with bias in marketing and sales to help us craft a winning marketing and sales strategy. In summary, Richards Pearls™ T – Shirts Design and Sales Company will adopt the following sales and marketing approach to promote and sell our T – shirts and casual clothes;

  • Introduce our T – shirt label by sending introductory letters to churches, schools, corporate organizations, political parties, groups, and other establishment that wears T – shirts and casual clothes.
  • Attend fashion expos in the U.S and in other parts of the world
  • Organize our own fashion show; in order for us to display our designs / clothes
  • Advertise our clothing label in newspapers, TV and radio stations
  • Canvass celebrities to wear and help us promote our clothing label
  • List our business on yellow pages ads / local directories
  • Leverage on the internet to promote our business
  • Engage in direct marketing
  • Leverage on word of mouth marketing (referrals)

11. Publicity and Advertising Strategy

The social media also plays an important role in modern day fashion publicity and advertisement; it gives fashion label the ability to reach out to a wide range of customers all over the world within a short period of time and of course at a very cheaper price when compared to other publicity and advertising platforms.

Any T – shirt Design and Sales Company that wants to take on the market must be deliberate when it comes to building brand awareness and credibility. Most often than not, big – time clothing labels ensures that they create great hype whenever they are about to release any unique design from their stable.

Social media, such as blogs, micro blogs, podcasts, photo and video sharing sites are some of the tools fashion designers leverage on to promote their labels.
