Chiltern Hills Academy
About chiltern hills academy.
Chiltern Hills Academy is a successful, mixed 11-18 Church of England Academy, with a roll currently of 1078. Based in the market town of Chesham, Buckinghamshire, we are located in the Chiltern Hills, an area of outstanding natural beauty conveniently situated at the end of the London Underground Metropolitan Line.
The Academy has an excellent induction programme and an on-going programme of varied training opportunities.
The staff are committed to continuing to raise achievement and to ensuring that each student attains their full potential. We have a successful and expanding Sixth Form. Each year group is led by an experienced Academic Year Leader and these staff are supported by teams of dedicated Academic Tutors.
The school has undertaken a major refurbishment and expansion programme to add to our well-resourced teaching environment. The assembly hall has been upgraded and now has tiered seating, we have added a purpose built library and the new buildings have better, state-of-the-art classrooms which have a modern and contemporary feel. In addition to this, we have an artificial grass pitch built in collaboration with the FA which is used by students and the local community. We continue to develop and improve the outstanding learning facilities for our student. Do have a look through this website for further details.
Our recent OFTSED inspection in September 2022 judged that the school continued to be a ‘good’ school in all categories and recorded that "Leaders are highly ambitious for all pupils at the school, and the curriculum is at the heart of this ambition. Leaders have high aspirations for pupils to achieve the best possible qualifications.” On behaviour the inspectors found "High expectations for pupils’ behaviour mean that lessons are positive and purposeful, and that behaviour is calm around school.” We have been graded ‘good’ following our latest SIAMS inspection (March 2020).
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share in this commitment.

Legal duty to provide governance information
All maintained school governing bodies and academy trusts have a legal duty to provide all of the governance information requested on this page in so far as it is available to them.
This will increase the transparency of governance arrangements. It will enable schools and the department to identify more quickly and accurately individuals who are involved in governance, and who govern in more than one context.
The information requested says nothing in itself about a person's suitability to govern. However, it is essential information for the department to be able to uniquely identify an individual and in a small number of cases conduct checks to confirm their suitability for this important and influential role.
You should provide all of the information requested insofar as it is available to you. A minimum set of information needs to be provided before a record can be saved.
